Two high-value targets, 4 others captured
PROCOR Regional Director, Police Brigadier General R’WIN SA PAGKALINAWA identified the captured high-value targets as Cioriano G. Tumitit aka “Piano”, 38 years old, and a resident of Upper Bad-ayan, Baculongan Sur, Buguias, Benguet and Gilbert Locloc Patiti, 44 years old, a member of the Acetylene Gang and a resident of Banaaw, Tadian, Mtn Province.
Tumitit was apprehended in his residence on the morning of June 26, while Patiti was arrested in Balili, Mankayan, Benguet on the afternoon of the following day June 27. Evidence recovered and confiscated from Tumitit’s possession were two (2) plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, Php1,000.00 buy-bust money, and a cellular phone while 27 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, one (1) keypad Samsung cellular phone, and a Cebuana Lhuillier Cash Card were taken from the possession of Patiti .
Investigation revealed that Patiti is a newly identified member of the Acetylene Gang operating nationwide with a warrant of arrest for the crime of Robbery with Intimidation, with Php200,000.00 recommended bail bond issued by Judge Rufus G. Malecdan of RTC Branch 60, Baguio City.
Meanwhile, three drug personalities were caught after the police implemented a search warrant against them in their respective residences. Freddie Palangdan Mateo, 43, driver, and a native of Bauko, Mtn. Province was arrested at Km 4 Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet on June 27. Confiscated from his possession were four (4) sachets of suspected “shabu”; dried marijuana leaves and assorted drug paraphernalia. Cely Concepcion Damasig and Romeo Ferrer Espino were apprehended at Ledesma St., East Modern Site, Aurora Hill, Baguio City on June 25. Taken from them were assorted drug paraphernalia, two live ammunition for cal. 45, and an M16 rifle.
Another suspect, Abdul Jalil Dangiwan Pascan, 24, and a tricycle driver was arrested along the National Highway, Purok 6, Calanan, Tabuk City, Kalinga on June 26 during a buy-bust operation. Taken from him was one (1) plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, and Php1,000.00 buy-bust money.
Moreover, Kibungan police recovered one (1) kilo of dried marijuana leaves in tubular form wrapped with a transparent cellophane worth Php120,000.00 found in a waiting shed in Sitio Ambalideng, Poblacion, Kibungan, Benguet on the afternoon of June 28.
Three gun owners arrested
A caretaker identified as Kevin Tabagan Banatao, 23, and a resident of Taggay, Pinukpuk, Kalinga was arrested at Brgy. Tuga, Tabuk City, Kalinga on the morning of June 28, 2020. Prior to his arrest, combined operatives were implementing a bench warrant of arrest against two suspects when they saw Banatao in the area who was in possession of a firearm that led to his arrest. Evidence confiscated were one (1) cal 5.56 M16 rifle with inserted one (1) long magazine loaded with 17 live ammunition, one (1) short magazine loaded with eight (8) live ammunition for a cal. 5.56mm, one (1) short empty magazine for M16, and two (2) pieces binoculars.
Another gun owner identified as Vicente M. Acday, 55, was arrested after he was frisked at the entrance of the Municipal Hall in Liwan West, Rizal, Kalinga on the morning of June 26. Upon verification, police confiscated a caliber 9mm with inserted magazine loaded with 7 ammunition found tucked in his waist.
Lastly, another suspect who was under surveillance for alleged involvement in illegal drugs was apprehended at Barangay Patiao, Peñarrubia, Abra on the afternoon of June 25. The suspect was identified as Glenn Alfred Penamante Beleno and along with his arrest was the confiscation of a Cal. 38 without serial number loaded with three (3) live ammunition tucked in his waist and without pertinent documents
