Another drug dealer falls in Benguet
The arrested drug personality was identified as Darrell Ballangoy Calpasi, 34, driver and a native of Bugias, Benguet.
Calpasi was arrested May 15, 2021, at Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet after he sold to a poseur-buyer one (1) plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing 0.30 gram with Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 2,040.00.
In the course of the arrest, another two (2) plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 4.85 grams with SDP of Php 32,980.00, along with the buy-bust money, and one (1) unit white keypad cellphone were seized from the suspect.
The marking and inventory of all the seized items were subsequently conducted onsite in the presence of Barangay Captain Hon Tyrone Diaz, Prosecutor Andres Gondayao and a media representative.
Calpasi and the seized pieces of evidence were brought to La Trinidad Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.
Apayao random drug test yields negative results
Following the pronouncement of the new Chief, PNP on Intensified Cleanliness Policy, PROCOR Regional Director PBGEN RONALD O LEE ordered a surprise random drug test on Apayao police personnel during his command visit in the province on May 13, 2021.
32 personnel were randomly tested, where 28 were from Apayao PPO, one from the Provincial Explosive Ordinance and Canine Unit (PECU), one from the Highway Patrol Group (HPG), one from the Provincial Internal Affairs Services (PIAS) and another from RIU-14 Conner, Apayao.
The “Intensified Cleanliness Policy” of the Chief PNP means achieving cleanliness in the ranks, cleanliness in the workplace and the community. PBGEN LEE tasked the Apayao Provincial Crime Laboratory to conduct the drug tests. All results yielded NEGATIVE, which mean that all personnel tested are free from any trace of dangerous drugs.
Also, red teaming operations are being done in all offices to correct lapses and erring personnel will be dealt with accordingly.
Seven former militias in the Cordillera surrender
A former activist and a Militia ng Bayan (MB) from Mountain Province, and an MB listed in the Periodic Status Report on the Threat Groups (PSRTG) together with four (4) other MBs from Kalinga voluntarily surrendered to PROCOR authorities on May 11 and May 13.
Citing reports reaching the Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD O LEE reveals that alias “Del”, 30, of Natonin, Mtn Province was a former Bayan Muna member and a KLG Marco member under the Leonardo Pacsi Command while alias “Rilon”, 51, listed as PSRTG and four (4) other MBs from Tabuk City, Kalinga were former members of KLG Baggas.
After a series of negotiations, the strengthened joint effort of PNP Cordillera and partners from the Philippine Army, the seven (7) MBs finally returned to the fold of the law.
“Del” is now under the custody of Natonin MPS while the other six (6) are under the custody of Tabuk City’s.
As they return into mainstream society, the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) will help them to start a new life.
