MJ seedlings destroued in Kibungan
Police launched an operation and destroyed 210 marijuana seedlings at a plantation site in Sitio Buduan, Poblacion, Kibungan, Benguet on June 7, 2021.
Kibungan police together with PDEU/PIU, and Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), all of Benguet PPO, trekked for two hours going to the site, using a drone to locate and scour the area.
210 pieces of marijuana seedlings worth Php 8,400.00 were discovered and destroyed at the 30-square meter site.
Further, police and its partner agencies continuously tap the local officials and the community for the monitoring and reporting to authorities of possible marijuana sites for their town to be cleared of illegal drugs.
A high value drug personality nabbed
at La Trinidad, Benguet
A kargador at Trading Post, La Trinidad listed as a High Value Drug Personality is now facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) after being busted by joint operatives of Benguet PPO, RID-COR, and PDEA CAR in an anti-illegal drugs operation at Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet, evening of June 7, 2021.
He was identified as Mark John Curameng Requizo a.k.a. “John John”, 26 years old, a native of Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya, and currently residing at Betag, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Requizo was arrested after selling 2 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 1.18 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) amounting to Php 8,024.00 to an undercover operative who posted as a buyer.
The operatives were able to seize from the suspect the buy-bust money and a touchscreen cellular phone.
Present during the onsite inventory and markings of all confiscated pieces of evidence were a Brgy Kagawad of Puguis, Dioniso Cadley and Prosecutor Andres Gondayao.
Nine illegal gamblers arrested
A tip led to the arrests of 9 in separate anti-illegal gambling operations in Benguet and Ifugao on June 8 and 9, 2021. Arrested in Benguet were April Palangyos Sacla, 36; Nestor Aguinaldo Galawa, 44; Melchor Palangyos Wanti, 47, Rafael Samidan Mayos III, 42; Weuber Tadina Patingan, 38; and Sem Tanganga Dagas Jr, 30; while in Ifugao, arrested were Israel Nganoy Bahiwag, 37; Jay Bantule Dinamling, 33; and Jaime Bangeng Tumiguing, 52.
Those in Benguet were arrested by joint operatives of Buguias MPS and Benguet 1st Provincial Mobile Force Compay (PMFC) while in the act of betting during an illegal cockfight at Palacad, Catlubong, Buguias.
Seized from them were the bet money, bet list notebook, and two cockfighting chicken.
On June 9, La Trinidad cops also arrested suspects Mayos III, Patingan, and Dagas Jr. while playing tong-its at Puguis, La Trinidad. Seized from them were the bet money and playing cards.
Meanwhile, in Ifugao, joint operatives of Lagawe MPS and Ifugao 1st PMFC arrested suspect Bahiwag, Dinamling and Tumuguing while playing tong-its at the dirty kitchen of Tumiguing’s residence at Sitio Pukut, Poblacion North, Lagawe, Ifugao. Seized evidence were the bet money and the playing cards.
Charges for violation of Presidential Decree No. 1602 (Prescribing Stiffer Penalties for Illegal Gambling) and Violation of PD 449 (Cockfighting Law) were filed against them.
