Militia ng Bayan member surrenders in Abra
A food courier of the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTG) in the areas of Abra voluntarily surrendered to authorities at the headquarters of 1504th Maneuver Company, RMFB 15 in Casamata Hill, Zone 5, Bangued, Abra on June 10, 2021.
The surrenderer, known by his alyas Ian/Bulan/Yassy, 37, farmer, a resident of Barangay Gangal Sallapadan, Abra, is a former Vice Team Leader for 3 years, Medical Officer of Squad Dose under KLG North Abra for 8 years, and Militia ng Bayan member for 11 years. He is listed under the Periodic Status Report on Threat Groups (PSRTG) as of 3rd Quarter 2016. He also handed over to operatives eight cartridges 40MM High Explosives which were turned over to PECU Abra for safekeeping and proper disposition.
His surrender as a food courier of CTGs was a result of a series of negotiations by the operatives of 1504th MC RMFB15 with the support of Sallapadan MPS, other Abra PNP and AFP units and the intercession of his family members and relatives.
The surrenderer was brought to 1504th MC RMFB Headquarters for documentation and tactical interview. The application for the government’s assistance program and livelihood opportunities for returners has yet to be processed, in accordance with appropriate rules under the DILG and DSWD.
Brgy official in Apayao charged for health protocol violation
A barangay official of Brgy San Mariano, Sta. Marcela, Apayao is now facing charges after being reported to the authorities for violating RA 11332 also known as the “Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concerns Act.”
Based to reports, PROCOR Regional Director PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, identified the reported individual as Hon. Bobby Daquioag, 52 years old, Punong Barangay of San Mariano.
On June 7, 2021, Sta. Marcela MPS received a call from the Municipal Mayor of Sta. Marcela, Hon. Evelyn B. Martinez, regarding a complaint on an alleged violation of RA 11332 during a wedding celebration that transpired in the residence of Mr. Eddie Corpuz at Brgy San Mariano on May 28, 2021.
According to Sta. Marcela MPS, Mayor Martinez submitted some pictures taken during the day of the occasion that shows the number of attendees were in violation of the standard health protocols.
Conducting further investigation, Sta. Marcela MPS found witnesses confirming the occurrence of the wedding celebration that was attended by many visitors among whom is Punong Barangay Daquioag.
In addition, Mayor Martinez, stated that she did not issue any clearance nor permit the conduct of the celebration as the province of Apayao was still under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ). Instead, PB Daquioag allowed the celebration in his area of responsibility despite being knowledgeable of the prohibitions on the current quarantine classification.
Further, under Executive Order No. 18 series of 2021 signed by the Provincial Governor of Apayao, the province is placed under the MECQ classification from May 10-31, 2021 and was extended until June 15, 2021, which means that the conduct of gatherings outside residence was prohibited
Two drug personalities arrested in Tabuk City
Two drug personalities were arrested in separate buy-bust operations conducted by joint operatives of Kalinga PPO; Provincial Intelligence Unit – Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PIU/PDEU); Regional Intelligence Division Cordillera (RID-COR), and CIDG Kalinga/Apayao on the afternoon of June 17, 2021 at Tabuk City, Kalinga.
The suspects were identified as Osias Awisan Innog aka “Ossias”, 37, listed as Top 10 Drug personality in the Regional Level and Marlon Andawey Mahoy, 42, listed as High Value Individual (HVI).
Suspect “Ossias” was arrested at Barangay Lacnog after selling about 0.3 Grams of suspected shabu with Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 2,040.00 to an operative who acted as a poseur-buyer. During the course of arrest, operatives also seized the buy-bust money, cellphone, and a motorcycle used during the transaction.
On-site inventory of seized evidence was witnessed by Brgy. Kagawad Alex Addawi; media representative Meliza Guavez and DOJ representative Miss Lailanie Balao-ing.
On the other hand, suspect Mahoy was arrested in Barangay Magsaysay after selling suspected shabu weighing about 0.2 gram worth Php 1,360.00 to an undercover operative. The buy-bust money and cellphone used during the transaction were also confiscated from him. Seized items were inventoried onsite witnessed by Leonora Looy – media representative and Enrique Quino Sagayo, Punong Barangay of Magsaysay.**
