“Bayanihan, Bakunahan”
Police Regional Office Cordillera extended full support to the National COVID-19 Vaccination Days that were held from November 29 to December 1, 2021.
Acting on the instructions of Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, PROCOR has deployed police officers to the different vaccination sites in the Cordillera to provide the necessary support and assistance needed by the Local Government Units during the 3-day implementation of the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan.”
Further, PROCOR cops ensured compliance with the minimum public health protocols in various vaccination sites while qualified police officers with medical training also assisted in the vaccination and the delivery of vaccines.
According to reports submitted to PBGEN LEE, for the 473 vaccination centers established in the region, 1,213 PROCOR personnel were deployed as security, 49 personnel were deployed as encoders, and technical support, and 375 personnel were deployed under the Medical Reserve Force (MRF).
The “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” is an event initiated by the national government that was targeted to administer five (5) million vaccine doses daily for three (3) days and aims to increase vaccine coverage and mobilize stakeholders from every sector to support the national government’s goal of giving Filipinos a safe and healthy Christmas despite this pandemic.
Tadian cop donates cement to farmers
In the spirit of #BARANGAYanihan, a Tadian cop donated bags of cement to the local farmers of Sitio Banata, Brgy Dacudac, Tadian, Mountain Province.
According to Tadian Municipal Police Station (MPS), through the initiative of a Tadian cop, PEMS Eduardo C. Emingga, he purchased a total of 36 bags of cement using his own money which he donated to the farmers in Sitio Banata to aid in the ongoing construction of a farm-to-market road in the area.
The donated bags of cement were personally turned over to the farmers and were officially received by their representative, Ms. Patricia C. Alboc.
The construction of the road aims to hasten the mobilization and transportation of produce by local farmers in the area. Also, it will be able to provide the farmers with quick access to and from their farms that will lead to more sustainable production, and will possibly double or triple their yields.
Benguet cops revisit and help a senior citiizen
To follow-up and check on the welfare of one of their beneficiaries under the “Kapwa Ko, Sagot Ko” program, police officers of Kabayan Municipal Police Station (MPS) revisited and extended help again to a senior citizen in Brgy Pacso, Kabayan, Benguet.
According to Kabayan MPS, their beneficiary is Lola Simeona, 81 years old, a widow, having difficulty in walking due to a previous accident, and is currently living alone.
Lola Simeona was first met by Kabayan cops in the year 2020 as their first beneficiary under the “Kapwa Ko, Sagot Ko” program. During their visit, they were able to give a gas tank and other basic commodities to Lola Simeona.
For the second time, they visited Lola Simeona and from the voluntary contributions of Kabayan cops and donations from other stakeholders, they were able to personally deliver to her assorted groceries, hygiene kits, and other basic necessities. Also, they replaced her empty gas tank.
Community outreach in Abra
As part of their National Children’s Month Celebration, police officers of Lacub Municipal Police Station (MPS) conducted community outreach activities in two (2) far-flung barangays in Lacub, Abra.
In Brgy Guinguinabang, Lacub cops together with the Philippine Army and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) members conducted an outreach activity that benefited a total of 150 learners.
During the event, the team conducted a feeding activity and distributed school supplies to the learners of Guinguinabang Day Care Center, Our Lady of Guadalupe School, and Alfredo Bersamina National High School.
Meanwhile, in Brgy Lan-ag, Lacub cops together with Philippine Army officers distributed school supplies and hygiene kits to the 30 learners of Lan-ag Day Care Center.
As both barangays are considered far-flung areas in Lacub, Abra, the team hiked for almost two (2) hours, passing through a river, paddy fields, and a hanging bridge, to reach Brgy Guinguinabang while the team also hiked for almost five (5) hours, crossing through a river, to reach Brgy Lan-ag.
These activities aim to reach out to the communities in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAS) in the municipality of Lacub.**
