The road to three top podiums in the 33rd Luisa’s Friendship Darts Tournament has started for this season’s 28 players.
Atong Kabatan, Brent Quangey and July Punay may have the longest wait as they sit comfortably at the top of the ladder in the step ladder matches for topping their respective brackets.
Kabatan leads the11-man Class A with 23 wins and a single defeat as he leads all players with 46 points. The Moog employee’s lone defeat came in the hands of Guisad Central kagawad Daniel Compay 1-2.
Mines and Geo-Sciences engineer Santi Bugnosen occupies the second spot with a 20-5 card and 43 points, ahead of masseuse Cesar Bayeng (20-4) and similar earned points of 43.
Dagupan based bar owner Manda Abratique is at fourth spot with 17-3 card and 35 earned points, ahead of cop Charile Daoey (16-5, 35).
Many time winner Alex Maday-a is at 6th spot with 15-10, 35, followed by Luisa’s Café Darts Club president Nap Maranan (14-11, 31) and Compay (14-5, 30).
At ninth is JRS man Art Cabacungan (11-2, 27), while Brailley Badando (10-5, 23) and Eli Donaal (7-13) will start the games by occupying the lowest rung.
Quangey, the former Baguio contractors association president, sits comfortably atop the second bracket with a 13-11 card and 28 earned points, ahead of Bong Dalusong (12-13, 28).
DZWR/DZWT anchorman Nic Calinao is at third spot with an 11-7 and 26 points, followed by policeman Richard Bangit (9-14, 25) and ABS CBN online stringer Carl Taawan (8-14, 22).
Baguio Water District man Wowie Buyao is at seventh spot with card of 7-17, 25 followed by Benny Malona (7-111, 22). Lone female bracket player Lani Dampag is at 9th (7-14, 20) with John Laking (7-11, 18) and Rey Hufalar (5-7, 14) coming in next.
To start the fireworks in the said bracket are Jeff Serape (4-3, 9) and Chris Orduna (3-9, 10).
Gideon Omero (3-21, 14) will start his bid in the competitions by facing cop Bob Johnson (0-22, 3). Awaiting the winner is Karen Lacaden (4-7, 12) with the winner going to the race to four, 501 finals against Punay. **PML
