BESAO, Mountain Province(PIA)–Thirty micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) of the municipality received their livelihood kits under the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) program of the Department of Trade and Industry last September 22.
DTI-Mountain Province Provincial Director Mabel F. Banggawan shared to the beneficiaries that the PPG is a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program which aims to assist individuals, former rebels, families affected by fire incidents and other calamities like flood, including health disasters like the COVID-19 pandemic, and those who will avail of the Balik Probinsiya Program and even National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) barangays to recover or start their businesses.
Banggawan challenged the beneficiaries to use the kits properly towards sustainable development of their chosen line of businesses. She urged them to participate in trainings set by the DTI which they can use in managing their respective businesses.
“When we give these kits, it does not mean we won’t be seeing you anymore. If possible, we want to see you during trainings. We have trainings that will help you,” she said.
Besao Municipal Mayor Bryne Bacwaden thanked DTI for its continuing support to local MSMEs even as he requested for more programs for the municipality.
Natalia Mangayen from Barangay Catengan expressed her thanks to DTI and promised to take care of the kit given to her.
