The Provincial Tourism Office is embarking on full promotional activities with the latest created unit called the Provincial Tourism Information and Assistance Center (PTIAC) located at the Library Hub, Provincial Capitol.
The office is to serve tourists, local and foreign, who come to the office needing informations and assistance on tourism concerns. The office also provides brochures, maps, and other tourism related reading materials regarding the different municipalities of the province.
Asked during the radio program on the other functions of the office, Roger Sacyaten, Supervising Tourism Operations Officer of the province, said that the radio program is an avenue where the concerns on tourism promotion may be downloaded to the people and communities and vice versa. A similar program is also conducted every first and last Mondays at the Radyo Pilipinas, formerly Radyo ng Bayan.
“We will use the radio program to relay informations on how to efficiently work for tourism promotion and to provide technologies on how the people and communities harness the opportunities given to them by tourism”, he said.
It was also known that, though the office, unexplored tourist spots believed to be many may be brought to the attention of the tourism authorities for possible development and promotion.
Leonila Milagrose Malla-ao, designated Provincial Tourism Officer, said that Mountain Province offers various tourism attractions, natural and manmade, to tourists. The promotion of the tourism industry is among the main concerns of the tourism office at present.
In the social media, the Mountain Province tourism page in the face book (fb) administered by Bendahara Beau Macliing features the different tourist spots of the various municipalities of the province. Those interested are asked to like the page and invite others to like as the page desires to have many people be aware of the beauty and bounty of the province.
The page gained many likes and comments indicating that, indeed, many people discover beauty spots they have not known or been to in the past but appreciate them through the social media.
Sacyaten was quoted as saying “it is our hope that with the efforts of the provincial government, the tourism industry of the province will prosper and will lead to the creation of jobs and livelihood opportunities for our people in the different communities hosting beautiful and wonderful tourist attractions”**Alfred Macalling with info from Roger Sacyaten
