BAGUIO CITY – A Ride for Cleaner Air and Zumba for a Healthy Lifestyle will be conducted on December 2 by the Environmental Management Bureau-Cordillera Administrative Region (EMB-CAR) in celebration of Environmental Awareness and Clean Air Month.
The activities are in coordination with the Baguio, La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba and Tublay or BLISTT Airshed.
In a letter to Mayor Mauricio Domogan, EMB-CAR OIC Director Reynaldo Digamo said the event aims to promote awareness among the general public on the effects of air pollution and encourage the use of alternative measures like biking to reduce congestion, fuel consumption and vehicle emissions.
He revealed that the Ride for Cleaner Air route will be in the inner ring of the circumferential road along BLISTT. Starting point is at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) grounds, DENR Compound, Gibraltar, here, and riders will depart at 5 in the morning.
The Zumba for a Health Lifestyle will commence simultaneously while waiting for the riders’ arrival at the same venue at 7 am.
Digamo is inviting bikers or cyclists from any cycling association in Baguio to join the biking event and at least 15 from city hall to join the Zumba activity.
He is also asking the Baguio City Police Office to provide traffic assistance and act as marshals along the circumferential road within the city.
