Bontoc, Mountain Province – First-time visitor/s who will visit Bontoc to attend the week long Am-among Festival this September can be chosen as lucky visitors and will enjoy the amenities to be provided and shouldered by the Bontoc Municipal Government.
According to Sangguniang Bayan member John Pelew who chairs the Committee on Search for Lucky Am-among Visitors 2019, lucky visitors will have an unforgettable and unique experience during their stay in Bontoc.
He said that as part of the activities in celebration of theBontoc Foundation Day and Am-among Festival, lucky visitors will receive free food and hotel accommodation for two days and two nights; will join the Street Dancing and Cultural Presentations on September 16, 2019; and will be shown the different tourist spots in the town particularly the Maligcong Rice Terraces, Mainit Hot Spring, Kadchog Hanging Bridge, Bontoc Museum; and will have the chance to meet and mingle with the mayor and the Sangguniang Bayan members.
Pelew added that the activity aims to promote the different tourist spots of Bontoc; to promote the products of the municipality like the patopat, handicrafts, and tapestry; to promote the rich cultural heritage to include dances, songs and chants; to promote the history of Bontoc including its heritage sites; and to recognize first time visitors in the locality during the festivity.
The lucky visitors will be chosen by the selection team on September 15, 2019, at the Dantay Junction, Bontoc. The team will include representatives from the Municipal Tourism Office, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office, Bontoc Library, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Municipal Information Office, Sangguniang Bayan, and the media. **Alpine L.
