NATONIN, Mtn. Province – The Social Security System (SSS) and Natonin Multi-Purpose Cooperative inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the implementation of the AlkanSSSya Program which aims to provide social security protection and extend services to around 115 cooperative members who are also SSS members.
Under the AlkanSSSya Program, members from the informal sector can conveniently save a part of their daily income for as low as P12 per day in personalized metal boxes installed in locations accessible to them to ensure their social security protection in times of adversities like sickness, maternity, disability, unemployment, retirement, death and funeral. Also, it will teach them the importance of savings and financial discipline.
The program has also expanded its membership among Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA), barangay employees, community-based organizations, market vendors, farmers, jail inmates, jeepney/pedicab operators and drivers, and golf club caddies/umbrella girls.
Currently, there are six AlkanSSSya Program partners located in Mountain Province. **
