“Stupid God. Your God is stupid. Mine is good.” These quoted statements are from President R. Duterte. They are now viral in the internet.
Anyone who says stupid God only believes in himself, not in anyone else, and even those who could be higher than him in terms of power, influence or clout. That person’s thinking already borders on considering himself as “god”. The president is now considering himself as such?
Somebody told me of what he read in the internet, Facebook to be more exact. That if you reverse the statement, Stupid God, it would read: Dog (is) Piduts. Some people call Duterte, Piduts. In clearer terms then, it would mean President Duterte is a dog?
God’s world is perfect. It is only made imperfect by prudish men who want their own standards imposed on others.
Stupid God? Just look at ourselves. How many cells, tissues, organs, muscles, bones, nerves, etc do we have? Why are they working in perfect harmony?. They did not become harmonious by chance, or by just a flick of the finger. Certainly, there was somebody that made them fit together and work in perfect unity. It was not by me, by you, by any scientist, by president Duterte or by anyone who does not believe in God yet. Obviously the one who made it is not stupid. Of course it was not due to science, which is imperfect.
There must have been a creator of it much as there is somebody who developed or manufactured a machine.
President Duterte continued to make foolish assertions with the following statements which he uttered in defense of his stupid God caper: “Not everything in the Bible is true. Who published the Bible? Do they have printing press then? And the last supper, who are the idiots there?”
With the first statement, one would believe that he has already read the Bible in its entirety, or at least substantially, with understanding. Obviously, he had not therefore that statement is uttered in foolishness. The second and third statements simply show his disrespect to God. It does not matter who published the Bible. The important thing is, it is in our midst now to guide us. The absence of a printing press then should make him a real believer of God because despite such absence, the Bible is now printed. I will ascribe that to the wisdom of God. It is not stupidity.
The third statement will finally show his very scant knowledge and contempt of who God is. He called Christ’s 12 disciple idiots. To me, it is clear as day now that his penchant for cursing other people including those who are highly respected by others, emanate from his foolish heart and unbelief to God.
When Piduts uttered those God-insulting statements, I remembered related statements that I heard or read before. I searched the internet for them and here are some (I must caution here that these are being refuted or downplayed by non-believers of God.):
John Lennon (of the famed Beatles rock band) said in 1966: “Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I need not argue about that. I am right and I will be proved right. We are more popular than Jesus now. I don’t know who will go first- rock n’ roll or Christianity.” Of course everybody knows that John died on Dec 8, 1980 at the age of 40. He was proved wrong.
Lennon was known to believe only in himself and his wife, Yoko. As is Piduts believing only in himself?
At the launch of the RMS TITANIC (The Ship of Dreams) on May 31, 2011 an employee of the company who made the boat boasted: “Not even God himself can not sink this ship”. On its maiden voyage on April 14, 1912, the Titanic (the world’s largest ocean liner of the White Star Line that time) was sunk by an iceberg in the icy waters of the Atlantic ocean resulting to the death of 1,800 passengers and crew. The foolish pride of man was in full display.
In a more recent history, Tancredo Neves, president-elect of Brazil in 1985, said during a presidential campaign: “If I get 500 votes from my party, not even God could remove me from the presidency.” He got the vote. After the election, he underwent several surgeries then died before he took his oath of office. Another foolishness of man in display.
I think we need to be reminded that “the foolishness of God is wiser than men and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” Worldly wisdom is foolishness.
If we are reading the Bible then we must have read sometime that “the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.” And that, “the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” By cursing for instance, we can not make peace with others.
While I agree with much of what Piduts as president is doing, I can not fathom why he is now a purveyor of non-belief in God. And to think that he wants peace in our country, reason why he is trying to make peace with NPA-NDF, MILF, etc. “He should first make peace with God because the peace of God surpasses all understanding, will guard our (his) heart and mind through Christ.**
