The “Municipal Talakayan”, otherwise called “Bat-batog di Litaguan ed Tadian” in the local tongue was successfully conducted last November 25, 2016 at the Tadian Multi – Purpose Cooperative Function Hall.
This one day activity was conceived through the collaborative effort of the municipal government and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). It was well attended by the municipal and barangay officials, municipal employees, DSWD staff, KC community volunteers, civil society organizations and other NGOs, other gov’t. agencies and community members.
The gathering aimed to increase awareness and understanding of the local community through the town’s programs and projects, enhance their participation in local governance and share observations, opinions, perceptions, and expectations on the development of the municipality.
As a way for the LGU to convey its accomplishments, projects and plans, various presentations were expounded. The Municipal Development Status was presented by Mr. Jovencio Palingping, MPDC, the Municipal Development Priorities, Intervention and Gaps were presented by the DSWD and the Municipal Development Agenda was presented by no other than the municipal mayor, Atty. Anthony D. Wooden.
To intensify the understanding of the people on the presentations, the “Talakayan Gallery” was prepared by the different departments of the LGU and the different NGOs wherein photos and documents were displayed in their respective booths for all to observe and comprehend. There were some focus group discussions and testimonies from the participants afterwards.
With the good outcome of the activity, the municipal government is planning to conduct similar activities in the future. **MO
