TABUK CITY, Kalinga (PIA) — The Tabuk City government, through its Office of the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs (OCTACA), launched a convergence program to boost tourism, culture, and arts.
With the theme ‘Tara, LINK Tayo!’, which stands for Lakbay, Interaksyon, Negosyo, and Kultura, the initiative aims to boost the tourism value chain through cross-promotion, cross-marketing, and co-creation of tourism offerings.
“Tourism can no longer be done alone. This is a pledge that Tabuk City, Kalinga municipalities, and sister LGUs will cross-promote, co-market, and co-create experiences for our visitors,” said OCTACA head Arlene Odiem.
The program, held from September 22 to 23, 2026, featured interactive activities, sharing of best practices, visits to Tabuk City’s tourism sites, cultural activities, and workshops on inter-local government unit (LGU) circuit development and marketing.
It was participated in by tourism officers from the municipalities in Kalinga and Tabuk City’s sister towns of Sabangan and Bauko in Mountain Province and Kapangan in Benguet.
In line with this year’s World Tourism Month theme, “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism”, the program highlighted the TABUK 360 Virtual Tour, a digital platform developed by the Kalinga State University, allowing visitors and tourists to explore the city’s tourism offerings virtually.
The development of the tool was assisted by the Department of Science and Technology under its Smart and Sustainable Communities Program. **JDP/IOS-PIA CAR, Kalinga
