BAGUIO CITY – – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority(TESDA) is set to conduct a National Technical – Vocational Education Enrolment and Jobs bridging Day this February 27 and 28 in line with its thrust to provide quality TVET and Training programs for Filipinos and to promote TVET as a preferred choice of career.
A nationwide TESDA activity that adopts the theme, “Magsanay, Magka – hanapbuhay, Magtagumpay” (have skills training, have job and be successful), it intends to strengthen the promotion and advocacy of TESDA programs/services and at the same time to provide employment assistance to TVET graduates who are looking for jobs.
For TESDA Baguio – Benguet Provincial office, in partnership with the involved local government units and Public Employment Offices and partner national line agencies, the National TVET Enrolment and Jobs Bridging Day is set at the Benguet Sports Complex in Wangal, La Trinidad on February 27 and then at the University of Baguio Gym on February 28.
TESDA Baguio – Benguet Provincial Director Manuel Wong disclosed that for the enrolment part, it will be for the scholarship programs that TESDA offers for various Tech – Voc traits while for the job bridging part, in partnership with Special Economic Zone (PEZA – Baguio) and other industry partners, they will be inviting commercial establishments and companies for a jobs fair.
TESDA partner Technical – Vocational Institutions (TVIs) will also be invited not only as part of the TESDA scholarship programs but also to promote their technical education and skill development program, Wong added.
As part of the preparation, Wong also already met with members of the Technical Working Group (TWG) that is being tapped by the Department of Labor and Employment for the conduct of regular and big jobs fair in Baguio – Benguet area. **JDP/CCD-PIA CAR
