Duterte admits PH won’t be rice-sufficient by 2020 – news item
Mr. President, we do not have to import to fill up the gap. We just barter our fish with the noodles of China.

Acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio said the country should demand damages from China for destroying corals – news item
Well this would send Malacanang Spokesperson Harry Roque rushing to the West Philippine Sea to get corals to prove that China is not harming our corals.
(In the aftermath of the feature of the GMA7 on the case of the Chinese coast guard getting catch of Filipino fishermen, Roque brought in three of the complaining fishermen to prove that the Chinese are not harassing out fishermen.)

Spokesman Harry Roque claimed people feel safer under Duterte administration – news item
Right, Harry. The China coast guard felt very safe intruding into the boats of our fishermen and taking their best catch.

During his visit to South Korea, President Duterte took another swipe at the Roman Catholic Church and blasphemed God by describing Him as torpe even as he announced jokingly that there is a new church called Iglesia ni Rodrigo.
Last Sunday, even the staunchest followers still trooped to the church whose god Duterte pictured as stupid. I am told that the Iglesia ni Rodrigo was empty that time. May be next Sunday.

Fed up with the endless criticisms of Acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio regarding the handling of the administration of the West Philippine Sea row with China, Duterte taunted Carpio that if he is really bright, it would be him sitting in Malacanang.
There goes a president of a republic reacting like an immature kanto boy.

Several of the officials sacked by Duterte allegedly for corruption and other wrongdoings including the cousin of his partner Honeylet Avancena have been appointed to other posts in government.
I am waiting with bated breath where Duterte will put former Tourism Secretary Wanda Tulfo Teo next. For those who do not know, Teo resigned amidst allegations that she used her position to favor the program of her brothers over PTV4.

Back in February, Duterte joked why shouldn’t China just make the Philippines a province.
Mr. President, just start with Davao City first. If we could prove that the life of the residents of your city became better under China, then am sure no Filipino in his right mind would mind the entire archipelago becoming a province of China. .

Let the show Beijing: PTV to air programs promoting Chinese history, culture – news item
From the cellar, r PTV4 will now zoom to the top of the ratings what with the millions of his followers tuning in to learn more about the country President Digong is smitten with and cannot cuss.
My personal thoughts here is that if the friendship between China and the Philippines is really genuine, the Chinese will reciprocate by also showing for programs on the Philippines in their state television.

Opposition lawmakers want Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano to make public the what he claimed as hundreds of diplomatic protests filed by the government against China for its violations of Philippine sovereignty.
My gut feel is in the tradition of his answer when asked what’s our edge over China which he said is “puso” (heart), if forced to answer the opposition solons, he will just say “sikret.”**
