Being the Christmas season, this is the time to be thankful.
We have survived a year filled with troubles. From going for days without much food to adjusting for the online classes. What we accomplished is nothing short of a miracle. Most of us had to rely on relief packages from the government, food that were not enough for the whole family. But somehow, we managed and are now celebrating Christmas with a feast.
Like many other students, the online learning system was not an easy time. Doubts had plagued many, including me at the beginning and during the semester. But with help from above, we made sure our education would not get interrupted and now look into the next year with utmost confidence.
But creating a miracle is not free. Some of our friends, family, and other loved ones have been stolen from us by the virus. And with human losses, so many people have been emotionally so low. But perhaps it would be the more reason to be thankful. For the people, however, who have guilt in their minds, being grateful is something hard to accept as there had been many cases where people unknowingly brought the virus into their homes. This would ultimately result in the lives of others being taken.
Outside intrusion would be little help for these people. No one can change one’s mind when he truly blames himself. It is something that must be resolved by the person himself. After all, we must all learn to forgive ourselves one day. And to take it easy on ourselves, we can truly feel grateful for being still alive. Death is something that gives us the reality check of how fragile we are, but in turn make many of us stronger.
As such with the many newspaper outlets ceasing to exist in this time, all the more ZigZag Weekly feels grateful. And as many more companies collapse due to the pandemic, the more genuine the thankful feeling becomes…… for the good news it brings to the population, the bad news that sour their moods, and the ugly information they deserve to know…… this company will forever serve the people. And from the supporters to the haters, all will contribute into the burgeoning of this business. Therefore, as the holidays come around, the people can expect prayers coming from ZigZag Weekly and her employees. And with the new year just around the corner, this company will still have the same resolution it had for the past years, to better serve the people.
For the coming years, the people can always expect this newspaper to deliver. It has so far survived a pandemic and hopefully continue to live on for many years. Changes may happen internally and externally, but this newspaper will not change who it serves. As long as the people expect, they shall receive, the news as it should be.
Merry Christmas.**
