BAGUIO CITY- – The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Cordillera (BFAR-CAR) opened 23 scholarship slots for undergraduate students interested to pursue a four-year BS Fisheries course.
In line with the 10th Nationwide Recruitment and 23rd Leaders Examination, BFAR-CAR offers three scholarship slots for the Fisheries Industry Leader and 20 slots under the Fisherfolk Children Education Grant.
Each scholar will avail of free tuition and other school fees (except dormitory rental), a monthly stipend of P4,000; book allowance of P2,000; thesis support worth P7,000 and graduation support of P1,500.
Fisheries Industries Leaders applicants must be natural-born Filipino citizens, graduating high school students, not more than 25 years old and part of the Top Ten of the graduating class, with good moral character, and residents of the municipality for at least six months.
Applicants for the Fisherfolk Children Education Fund, on the other hand, must be natural-born Filipino citizens, high school graduate, not more than 25 years old, with good moral character, parents or guardians must be MAO or BFAR-CAR registered fisherfolk, and residents of the municipality for at least six months.
Interested students must file their application on or before February 2, 2018 to the regional office or any provincial office of BFAR-CAR. Examination will be held on February 24, 2018 in three testing centers – Bonifacio Elementary School, Guisad, Baguio City; Lamut, Ifugao; and in Luna, Apayao.
