BONTOC, Mountain Province, May 10 (PIA)– The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) conferred the Bagwis Bronze Award to seven business establishments in the province.
DTI Provincial Director Juliet Lucas and Provincial Administrator Amador Batay-an awarded during the Monday flag raising ceremony last May 6 a certificate and Bagwigs signage to each of the six new awardees and one re-certification.
The new awardees are the New Stop and Shop in Nacagang, Sabangan; Lumnay Enterprise and PMA Trading of Poblacion, and Nicolai Construction Supplies and General Merchandise of Lower Caluttit , all in this municipality; Rockview General Merchandise of Demang and Rockview Grocery in Poblacion, Sagada.
The Boaging Store in Poblacion, Bauko that was conferred the Bagwis Bronze Award in the previous years received a re-certification. The life of Bagwis award is only three years.
The Bagwis Award recognizes establishments that uphold the rights of consumers while practicing responsible businesspractices where consumers get the best value for their money.
Lucas said the Bagwis is formerly known as the DTI Certified Establishment. ‘Bagwis’ which means model or ideal localizes it.
The award has three categories. For bronze award, the business establishment must be compliant with the Fair Trade Law (FTL), has customer relations, and good store management operation; the silver awardee must have achieved the bronze requirements, and must be socially committed and a responsible business. The gold awardee must have achieved the silver requirements plus some elements aligned with ISO 9001.
