TABUK CITY, Kalinga (PIA) — The provincial government invites seasoned and first-time runners to explore the province’s beautiful landscapes in the first ever Kalinga Road to Trail Challenge set on September 14, 2025.
The event is being held in line with the celebration of the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary and World Tourism Day in September.
“The challenge is more than just a run – it’s a movement that reminds not only our Lingkod Bayanis but every individual that embracing an active lifestyle is key to personal wellness and quality service to others,” the provincial government said in an announcement.
“This is your chance to experience nature in its purest form. The Kalinga Road to Trail Challenge isn’t just about pushing your limits — it’s about immersing yourself in the breathtaking beauty of Kalinga,” it added.
The race features 3K, 6K, 12K, and 21K categories and will traverse through challenging and scenic terrains in Tabuk City.
Organizers said the routes will be announced soon.
Those interested to join the event are asked to register online through https://tinyurl.com/2bx6n42n until August 31, 2025. Registration fees range from P450 to P2,000.
The provincial government said it is eyeing to make the First ever Kalinga Road to Trail Challenge an annual event, inspired by the success of the Lumin-awa Trek held every February as part of the Bodong Festival.
The Kalinga Road to Trail Challenge is spearheaded by the Office of the Provincial Human Resource Management Officer and the Office of the Provincial Administrator – Tourism Services in partnership with Sinaunang Ugat, a local group promoting trail tourism.
Helping in planning and securing the event are the 103rd Infantry Battalion and the Tabuk City Police. **IOS-PIA CAR, Kalinga
