On the bright day of July 30, 2018, a wave of applause reserved for the personnel of the Provincial Health Office and Provincial Department of Health Office echoed across the St. James High School of Mountain Province, Inc. campus.
Headed by Dr. Penelope Domogo, the speakers sacrificed their time to teach the students about adolescent reproductive health, teenage pregnancy, health lifestyle, and emotional intelligence and health.
Adolescent Reproductive Health, Teenage Pregnancy and Healthy Lifestyle were discussed so professionally that I was absolutely dumbfounded and mesmerized. I was also surprised by the number of troubles that our curiosity can lead to. An example of the negative impact is teenage pregnancy, a mistake that can easily change our future.
Emotional Intelligence and Health was another interesting topic that I will always remember. Numerous gasps were heard during the lecture. For me, it held so many shocking details about our emotions and how they affect us.
That day was definitely an unforgettable one. Who knows how it will help me? Who knows how this one day symposium will change my destiny? There’s no telling what kind of future I will face with the added knowledge I now have. **Micha Batoon, Grade 9
