Music, in whatever shape or form, is fully capable of reaching anyone. Thanks in part to the internet, libraries’ worth of art forms can be appreciated, criticized and stir within us a mixture of emotions
which words simply cannot do justice of defining. Whether it be an erratic and wild melody that resonates with the rebellious souls, or the peaceful and lyrical songs that bring back the memories of the past.
No matter where a song is made, anyone, wherever they may be in the world, can form a connection to the song which their emotions can recognize. Now, several bands with several genres exist. Songwriters, producers, etc. brimming with creativity can put out several works of art. Whether one prefers the songs of the past or the present, an unbiased mind always gets the most in life.
Growing up, whatever our parents put on the speakers, we tend to gravitate towards that kind of music. Country songs seem to have a grip on the older generations of this town. So much so that cowboys and cowgirls can often be seen in La Trinidad. Complete with the hats and boots, they walk around comfortably under the heat and the smog.
Several performances in school, as I remember, often make use of the popular country songs. Most likely because of the simple steps they require to perform.
Often enough music can provide us a gateway into other realities or take us back in time when nostalgia takes over the senses. A lot of us have memories we would like to go back to, experiences we would like to replay. In this world where everything moves fast, a sneak peek back to the past can give us comfort.
Because a song contains within it countless emotions, any person can be affected by music. To discover a new song we can really connect with is an exhilarating feeling. A sound that can flow freely through the ears and into the heart. It can easily unite us through a noble message. Or used as a way to speak out against oppression. The sounds of hate can easily slither to the soul. And spread throughout the body.
Works of art can be created with our two hands. Just like music they can make products that spread throughout the world. And the messages they bear within them ultimately follow. These two hands of ours were created not to steal away from fellow peoples but to give back to them and mold something beautiful.
To create a product of love will always outlast any creation of hate.**
