BANGUED, Abra –- The province is now gradually opening its tourism sites to local tourists but health protocols will be strictly enforced.
The Provincial Anti-Covid-19 Task Force led by Governor Maria Jocelyn Bernos has allowed the resumption of the tourism industry province-wide. However, Bernos clarified that LGUs may still suspend all tourism activities in their areas of responsibilities if deemed necessary due to Covid-19.
The legendary Kaparkan Falls in Brgy. Caganayan in Tineg is now open for local tourists only as allowed by Tineg Mayor Corinthia Crisologo.
With the assistance of ABRAmazing Tour as provincial service provider, interested Abrenians may now visit the Kaparkan falls during this rainy season which is the best time to do so.
Other tourist sites in the municipality such as the Piwek Rock Formations and Vira Caves are still closed while the host LGU is working on the guidelines.
In the municipality of Lagayan, the popular Lusuac Spring Resort is open to locals. Interested visitors can coordinate thru the official facebook page of Lagayan Tourism Council for online booking. As part of the new normal, tourists are required to accomplish and present health declaration and tourism registration forms.
Lagayan Mayor Edmarc Crisologo clarified that the tourism council only allows a maximum of 30 visitors to the Lusuac Spring per day.
Tourism Consultant George Anthony Lalin from the Office of Congressman JB Bernos, reiterated that local tourists are still required to strictly adhere to all health protocols amid the pandemic.
“The LGUs are now working on the gradual re-opening of their tourist sites. However, we advise the public to continuously follow all health protocols as part of the new normal even when tourism is already allowed”.
