22 December 2021 – The City Health Services Office closes the big vaccination sites particularly the gymnasiums of Saint Louis University, University of Baguio and the SM basement parking from December 23 to January 3, 2022 but will open satellite and district health centers to cater to vaccinees.
Vaccination will continue at the District Health Centers from December 23 to 24 and December 27 to 31, 2021 to accommodate more vaccinees who will be availing of either the first dose, second dose or booster shot, according to Assistant City Services Officer Celia Flor Brillantes.
There are now 249,790 fully vaccinated individuals in the city as of December 21, 2021.
However, there are still more than 30,000 to be inoculated with their second dose out of the 282,057 adults jabbed with their first dose.
The Department of Health set the target population of 281,000 eligible vaccinees in Baguio wherein over 100 percent have been vaccinated with first dose and 88.66 percent were fully vaccinated.
For the pediatric population, the DOH targets a population of 42,811 for ages 12 to 17 years old. The CHSO reported 31,229 individuals or 72.94 percent of the target population had their first dose while 25,020 or 58.44 percent were already fully vaccinated.
The CHSO is still convincing some 18,000 youngsters to register at bakuna.baguio.gov.ph and line up for their vaccines at the various vaccine centers before the year ends.
As to the inoculation of booster shots, at least 17,352 have already been jabbed more than a month ago since the city started injecting booster vaccines in November 17, 2021. ** Jessa P. Samidan/PIO Baguio
