BAGUIO CITY – The Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC), Cordillera’s biggest tertiary hospital, has reimposed its “no visitor” policy as a measure against possible transmission of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
In an advisory on Tuesday, the hospital management also said watchers will only be allowed for patients who are physically challenged, minors, and senior citizens.
But for Covid-19 patients, watchers are not allowed, it said.
BGHMC administration has also identified a drop-off area for food deliveries and parcels at the flagpole fronting the main building to avoid entry of any person into the medical facility.
Ambulant vendors have also been prohibited to enter the premises of the hospital.
For identification purposes and to ensure that only authorized persons are inside the hospital premises and buildings, employees have been required to display their identification cards while watchers who have been permitted are also mandated to wear their watcher’s pass while inside the hospital premises.
“Everyone is required to always wear face mask and face shield,” the advisory said.
Since 2020, the hospital has set up a triage at its garden area and has required all persons entering the facility to first pass through the triage to be able to guide and assist patients where to go for their medical needs and prevent people from wandering at the premises.
BGHMC is an 800 bed-capacity tertiary hospital owned and managed by the Department of Health.
It is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for all patients with ordinary diseases to the most adverse conditions. It also has a dialysis center catering to both in-patients and outpatient. **Liza Agoot, PNA
