Bontoc, Mountain Province – The Bontoc Local Government Unit (LGU) has reached out to the victims of the massive flooding in Cagayan and Isabela due to Typhoon Ulysses.
While the municipality is spared from the wrath of Typhoon Ulysses, Bontoc Mayor Franklin Odsey enjoined the public in prayers for those victims of the disaster.
“We are thankful to the Almighty that our municipality has been spared from the devastating impact of Typhoon Ulysses. Our thoughts and prayers are with the affected families and individuals in these difficult times,” the mayor remarked.
Mayor Odsey remarked that the culture of Og-ogfo (Bayanihan) is innate in every I-Fontok. Thus, the municipality shall extend any help it can provide to the victims of the flooding in Cagayan and Isabela.
Relative to this, Odsey directed the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) for the purchase of 30 cavans of rice as an aid to the Cagayan Valley and Isabela flooding victims and evacuees.
With this, the Bontoc LGU turned over its donation to the Provincial Government of Mountain Province through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) on November 18, 2020.
