CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga–The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) approved the twin resolutions of the Local Finance Committee (LFC) recommending to the local chief executive the approval of financial assistance to some calamity-stricken areas in Luzon.
Through SP Resolution No. 2020-230, the legislative body approved Resolution No. 006 of the LFC providing P200,000.00 financial assistance to each of the provinces of Catanduanes, Albay, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Marinduque and P100,000.00 to Tuguegarao City which were devastated by the recent typhoons.
The body also approved LFC Resolution No. 007 recommending the amount of P225,000.00 to augment the needs of 150 families from Kalinga living in Itogon, Benguet who were affected by COVID-19.
Earlier, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Tabuk City unanimously approved a resolution authorizing the local chief executive to extend not more than P1 million donation to Tuguegarao City and relief efforts in other parts of Cagayan affected by Typhoon Ulysses.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (DRRMC), Tabuk City DRRMC and the Municipal DRRMCs of Kalinga spearheaded separate rescue operations in neighboring Cagayan and Isabela provinces. There are also on-going relief distribution of donations from various organizations and individuals.
In response to the call for Oplan Tulong Cagayan, groups organized for humanitarian missions are calling for donations in cash or in kind.
