12 November 2021 – The city government of Baguio hopes to accomplish its target of vaccinating 95 percent of the eligible adult population numbering 281,000 with at least one dose of protection against the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) by the end of this month.
Based on vaccination data from the City Health Services Office, Baguio has administered a total of 437,204 doses as of November 11 where 254,302 were for first dose while 203,674 were fully vaccinated.
Dr. Rowena Galpo, head of the CHSO said the 95 percent target will be accomplished this November assuming an average of 800 vaccinees per vaccination day.
“Ninety-five percent of 281,000 eligible population is 266,950 and with an average of 800 daily jabs for first dose, we will be able to cover the remaining 15,678 individuals in 20 days,” Galpo announced during the management committee meeting of city department heads on Tuesday, November 8.
As of November 11, Baguio has already inoculated 90.20 percent of the eligible population of 281,000 with first dose while those fully vaccinated is now at 72.13 percent.
Comparing to the 70 percent inoculation target of the Department of Health, Galpo said Baguio already achieved 101.13 percent of individuals with at least one dose as of November 9.
“But our target is higher at 95 percent which is 266,950 of the 281,000 eligible population,” Galpo explained.
