BAGUIO CITY (PIA) – – The Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council(CRDRRMC) through its Response Cluster, put into motion its OPLAN “Binnadang” with the first tranche of food and non-food items delivered to Clark Airbase for relief augmentation for Typhoon Odette- affected families in Region 8.
With the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD CAR) and Tactical Operations Group 1 Phiilippine Air Force on the lead, nine trucks from TOG1, Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office and Abra District Engineering Office and the Philippine Army’s 7th Infantry Division delivered 6,453 family food packs (FFPs), 4,336 bottles of drinking water and 150 pieces of new blankets to Clark Air Base on Monday (Dec. 27).

The FFPs were hauled from the DSWD Satellite Warehouse in Bangued, Abra and the donated drinking water and blankets from the DSWD Regional Office.

CRDRRMC Response Cluster chair DSWD CAR Regional Director Arnel Garcia coordinated with DSWD Regional Field Office 1 and 3 for the synchronized delivery to Clark Air base of their respective food and non-food augmentation assistance.
The DSWD – CAR and TOG–1 are set to have a second delivery to Clark Air Base of augmentation assistance to Region 8 on Wednesday composed of 608 FFPs.
Meanwhile, DSWD–CAR is preparing 5,000 FFPs, 3,000 Malong, 35 rolls of laminated sacks and 200 collapsible water containers in response to the request for augmentation from MIMAROPA or Region IV B.
In the CRDRRMC Oplan Binnadang meeting today, the possible delivery of the augmentation support will be on the first week of January 2022.
As the DSWD – CAR is currently into production of FFPs at its regional warehouse in La Trinidad, donations for our typhoon -affected kababayans are still being accepted. Kind hearted individuals who have something to give may bring their donations to the DSWD regional or provincial field offices.
CRDRRMC Chairperson and Office of Civil Defense Regional Director Albert Mogol initiated the implementation of the operation plan highlighting the “Bayanihan” traits of the Cordillerans termed Binnadang.
