BAGUIO CITY- – Her dream to be a teacher is now realized as she starts her work as part of the University of the Cordilleras (UC)- College of Criminology and Justice Education Department teaching staff.
Nineteen years old Zedny Curha Inmatong of Suyoc,Sablan, Benguet graduated from the UC-CCJE as cum laude in August of 2017 and placed 6th in the December 2017 Criminologist Licensure Examination with an average of 88.75%.
Zedny is the eldest of the three children of Zenya, a herbal product seller, and Anthony, an agricultural farm worker whose family hails from the province of Ifugao.
Zedny, during her media presentation led by UC CCJE Dean Ariel Pumecha, shared that taking criminology course was not her first choice as she hoped to be a teacher someday. But she enrolled in BS Criminology and eventually she felt at home and enjoyed the hospitality and support both of the school administration and her classmates.
“During my stay here in this institution, the treatment to me was over whelming, with fair and justice, and they treat you as a family. That’s how I like it here that’s why instead of shifting course, I decided to stay,” she said.
Zedny credits her success to her family and friends for their support, and her perseverance to excel in her studies amidst the challenges.
Zendy will be serving the institution that taught her and helped her to achieve her dream. “It is fulfilling. This is the time to give back to the institution that shaped me and helped me make it to the top. It is part of my success,“ she stressed.
Meanwhile, two other Cordillerans landed in the December 2017 Criminologist Licensure Exam Top Ten examiners. Efraim Wallang Parocha and Jessa Luis Laklaken, both from Mountain Province State Polytechnic College in Bontoc ranked 4th and 10th, respectively.
