CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, Jan. 18 (PIA) — Sixty health workers hired under the Human Resources for Health (HRH) program of the Department of Health (DOH) are now deployed to the different municipalities of Kalinga and this city.
Dr. Bernadette Andaya, Provincial DOH head, said the contract between the concerned parties was signed on January 15. They will serve for a period of six months from January 15 to June 30, 2018 and subject to renewal of employment.
Of the total number, 38 are nurses, six are midwives, two dentists, three medical technologists, two pharmacists and eight Family Health Associates, and one nutritionist.
“Hopefully, DOH will give additional slots to Kalinga under HRH program and Pharmacy Aids funded by another program,” Andaya said.
The hiring of health workers to the barrios is in support to the attainment of Universal Health Care or Kalusugan Pangkalahatan whose overall goal is to improve health outcomes, provide financial risk protection and provide quality access to health services especially to the poor. **PIA Kalinga
