TINEG, Abra – Clean, accessible water for all is an essential part of the world we want to live in. With this, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) is implementing water supply projects in remote municipalities in the province
The DILG recently led the inauguration and turn-over ceremony of a SALINTUBIG (Sagana At Ligtas na Tubig para sa Lahat) in this town. This project is a solar powered potable water system in Brgy. Vira.
DILG Cordillera Regional Director Marlo Iringan stressed to the people of Tineg how the government seriously implemented the project for the welfare of everybody as he appealed to them to take good care of it so that it will benefit them for a long time.
In Peñarrubia, Iringan with DILG Abra Director Millicent Cariño spearheaded the inauguration and turnover of a potable water system under the Bottom-up Budgeting (BUB) 2016. This project powered by solar energy would benefit barangays Malamsit, Tattawa and Namarabar.
Also a part of this BUB 2016 project is the rehabilitation of level II water supply at Brgys. Sta. Rosa, Poblacion and Dumayco.
“It is more than just a project, it means life”, Iringan said as he congratulated the LGU of Peñarrubia in making the project possible. The project, he said, will totally benefit the people as it will improve their lives.
“It is not only a human need. More than that, it is a human right”, said Cariño. She asked the people of Peñarrubia to take care of the project as it will give them access to affordable, safe, and clean water for a long period of time.
Iringan and Cariño likewise turned over a farm to market road under the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) 2016 in Peñarrubia. The project involved concreting of the farm-to-market road and the construction of spillway and stone masonry at Brgy.Namarabar.
Tineg Mayor Corinthia Crisologo and Peñarrubia Mayor Jane Cecilia led the officials and the people in thanking the government for the projects. ** PIA Abra
