The Department of Science and Technology Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) will be offering scholarships for the masters and doctorate programs in mathematics of the University of the Philippines-Baguio starting academic year 2019-2020.
This scholarship is under the Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program (ASTHRDP) of the department which aims to help improve the country’s global competitiveness and capability to innovate through Science and Technology (S&T) and accelerate the production of high-level human resources needed for research and development (R&D) in S&T.
All Filipino citizens who are not more than 45 years old at the time of application, in good health, have passed the admission requirements for graduate studies, interview and other screening procedures are eligible to avail of the abovementioned scholarships.
Meanwhile, scholarship awardees will enjoy the following privileges: actual amount for tuition and other school fees will be paid in full for both MS and PhD; a monthly stipend of Php 25,000 (MS) or Php 33,000 (PhD); an annual book allowance of Php 10,000; actual economy class round trip fare per academic year for those who opt to study outside their home province; Php 1 million accident and health insurance per year; thesis/dissertation allowance based on the type of research, whether dry [Php 30,000 (MS) or Php 60,000 (PhD)] or wet [Php 50,000 (MS) or Php 100,000 (PhD)]; a research grant amounting to Php 89,000 for MS or Php 253,000 for PhD; dissemination grant of Php 75,000 (MS) or Php 150,000 (PhD); and lastly, a mentor’s fee of Php 36,000 (MS) or Php 72,000 (PhD).
