TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Four drug pushers fell yielding P469,000.00 worth of shabu in two separate incidents this week in this city.
On February 2, Raymundo Martinez, 53, tricycle driver, single, residing at Purok 7, Bulanao, this city, was apprehended by barangay captain Rommel Balunggay in Naneng, this city.
The policemen who responded to the call of Balunggay found in the possession of Martinez seven medium sized sachets and 21 smaller plastic sachets containing shabu with combined weight of 2.0005 grams.
Three days later in a buy bust operation at Purok 7, Bulanao, police operatives nabbed Annabel Alverio Estrada, 40 years old, widow, housewife, Marlon Cabilec Olimos, 32 years old, single, driver and Jackielou Castillo Macabenta, 30 years old, single, all residents of Paliparan 3, Dasmarinas City, Cavite.
Chief of Police Francisco Bulwayan, Jr. said that the three were entrapped when they tried selling to a police officer posing as a buyer adding that the three have been under surveillance for weeks.
Seized from the three was more or less 67.0993 grams of shabu placed in two transparent plastic heat seal, two medium sized transparent plastic heat seal buy bust items, P1,000.00 buy bust money, P1,200.00 and three cellphones.
The Drug Enforcement Unit of Tabuk PNP said that with the Dangerous Drugs Board price per gram of P6,800.00, the total worth of the shabu seized during the two operations was P469,000.00.
Charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 have already been filed against the four suspects with the City Prosecutor’s Office. The four are detained at the Tabuk City Police Station detention center.**By Estanislao Albano, Jr.
