BAGUIO CITY(PIA)–The Family Planning Organization of the Philippines Baguio – Benguet Chapter, in celebration of FPOP’s 52nd foundation anniversary, conducted tree planting activity and now offering a month – long free family planning services..
FPOP Baguio – Benguet Chapter President Pastor Jan Fleming Marigza, on Wednesday (Aug. 18) led youth partners from the Loakan Proper Sanguniang Kabataan for the symbolic tree planting of pine tree saplings at the Botanical Garden.
Marigza said they hope to plant 52 or more trees this month and along with the green effort, they hope to strengthen FP services and advocacies on responsible parenthood and reproductive health amid the challenges of Coronavirus disease pandemic.
Access to information and services on family planning are also affected by the restrictions of movement due to COVID – 19, which is why we are tapping various platforms and expanding their community partnerships in reaching their target clients, he said.
Meantime, FPOP Baguio – Benguet Program Coordinator Sybel Agbulos announced that they are offering free contraceptive pills and male and female condoms with lubricants for the whole month of August at their office at the public market.
Free HIV screening is also being conducted by trained youth volunteers.
FPOP was founded on August 4, 1969, and is one of the oldest and biggest volunteer organization in the Philippines.
