LA TRINIDAD, Benguet (PIA)– House to house survey will be conducted in the different barangays in this capital town to determine who are and who are not yet vaccinated against COVID-19.
Municipal Health Services Officer Dr. Antonette Agpas said that this was agreed upon during a recent meeting with barangay officials to determine the actual picture of COVID-19 vaccination rate in the municipality.
Vaccination rate in the municipality is still low with vaccination hesitancy among the target population a big challenge. It was also noted that some La Trinidad residents who are working in Baguio City got their jabs in the city and are not included in the vaccination rate data.
“We would use a standard form tapnu kitaen tayo nga talaga dejay actual situation iti amin nga barangays. Kitaen mi amin dagiti nabakunaan ken dagiti saan pay a nabakunaan”(We would use a standard form to see the actual situation of vaccination in every barangay. We will know who are already vaccinated and who are yet to be vaccinated), Agpas said.
She added that they will ask why some residents opt not to get vaccinated and they will try to understand their reasons. For individuals willing to get vaccinated, they will be asked their vaccine preference so that they will prepare the barangays..
Deadline for the said survey was set on March 25.
“Han kami mauma nga man-encourage kenyayo nga agpabakuna. It is an added layer of protection Kenya tayo (We won’t get tired in encouraging you to get vaccinated. It is an added layer of protection for us),” she stated.
Agpas also encouraged those who are already fully vaccinated to have their booster shots.
The local government is conducting inoculation every day even bringing the program closer to the people through the barangay vaccination and vaccination in the workplace. **JDP/DEG-PIA CAR
