Cordillera film makers, advocates and supporters launched the Montañosa Film Festival 2024 in a Kapihan media forum in Baguio City last week. This year’s festival promises a captivating lineup of events and activities designed to foster connections and cultural exchanges through the powerful medium of cinema.
Panelists during the Kapihan were (l-r) MFF Founder and Director Ferdinand Balanag, Baguio City Tourism Officer Aloysius Mapalo, MFF Lead Organizer Raymond Sakiwat, CSDA Director of Programs and Strategic Alliances and the Sector Representative for Animation, Gaming, and Software Rene Misa, Department of Trade and Industry-CAR Regional Director Juliet Lucas, and filmmaker Julius Lumiqued.
This year’s theme, “BUILDING BRIDGES BEYOND BOUNDARIES” encapsulates the essence of creating meaningful connections and enabling people to forge collaborations across physical distances and between distinct cultures in current times, thereby building bridges between diverse societies with diverse cultures and, therefore, fostering understanding and appreciation of cultural differences and alikeness, leading towards successful collaborations. **RMC PIA-CAR
