BONTOC, Mountain Province. Personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology complied with the directive to conduct Oplan Linis Kulungan at the Mountain Province District Jail in Bontoc Mountain Province afternoon of October 18, 2017 in line with the program of President Rodrigo Duterte.
BJMP personnel together with members of the PNP from the Mountain Province Police Provincial Office, Provincial Public Safety Company and Bontoc Police conducted the search for contraband and illegal items witnessed by members of the media.
The 44 inmates were checked individually before they were ordered to gather at the frontage of the jail building while the search for drugs and other illegal items was ongoing on their cells.
Confiscated items were big nails, working tools they used in making crafted items as part of their livelihood, toothbrush and tobacco.
Jail Senior Inspector Gannisi Olosan, warden of the Mountain Province District Jail said that so far the outcome of the Oplan Linis Kulungan was good since the jail turned out negative for drugs and other prohibited items.
“Tinatawag natin eto na Oplan Linis Kulungan wherein i-flash out natin lahat ng contraband especially kung may presence ng droga. So overall, maganda ang kinalabasan ng ating Oplan Linis Kulungan.”, Olosan. **Ferdie Cariño Castañeda
