LaTrinidad, Benguet – Dr Jones Feleciano, the outgoing Vice President for Business Affairs of Benguet State University (BSU), urged upcoming officersto continue, if not, go beyond accomplishments which the previous administration have pulled off.
Effective August 1, 2016 till the end of the year, BSU will be having its new designated VPs in the personalities of Dr. Silvestre Aben and Dr. Tessie Merestela who will succeed Dr. Jones Feleciano and Dr. Percyveranda Lubrica, respectively, in the administration of the Business and Academic affairs of BSU.
In the turnover ceremonies last July 25 in front the administration building of BSU, Dr. Jones Feleciano along with outgoing VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Percyveranda Lubrica delivered their final messages before their co-employees and students as vice presidents of BSU.
Dr. Jones Feleciano highlighted his accomplishments during his stretch as the vice president of Business Affairs which he hopes to foster further through his successor, Dr Aben. “Previous average net income revenue remittance of the past administration was P8 million a year as of December 2011. That income revenue increased by 150% equivalent to P13 million in my first year which outstandingly ballooned to P25 million or a 294% leap as of December 31, 2015″, said Dr. Jones Feleciano.
That 294% leap was attributed to the collective diligent efforts of the University of Business Affairs (UBA) office along with the guidance of former University President Dr. Ben Ladilad, according to Dr. Jones Feleciano. This leap in the profit of BSU was also the reason why in four years the unversity haven’t increased its tuition.
He underscored further that he hope to see this collective effort to continuously show from succeeding designees from vice presidents down to the directors, deans and department chairs for the benefit of the university and its patrons.
With high hopes, Dr. Jones Feleciano believes that BSU’s upcoming newbie VPs, directors, deans and department chairs were chosen thoroughly by BSU President Dr Feliciano Calora Jr. because of their professionalism, potentials, performance and other factors necessary in their offices for effective management in the delivery of services for the best interest of the university and its beneficiaries.
“It would be the highest degree of stupidity and unprofessionalism on my part to believe that you [upcoming newbie VPs, directors, deans and department chairs] were selected on the bases of pedigree, tribe, political connection, kabarkada or maybe your UPLB connection”, said Dr. Jones Feleciano
He added with certainty that President Calora Jr. designated his newbie heads because of trust which would form a comfortable work atmosphere with good intrapersonal relationships within the office and in between departments. As such, it will be the springboard in catapulting BSU to the next level.
“Trust is not a harlot that may be uttered cheaply, commercially or promiscuously but it is a an absolute virture that must be revered with all honesty and manifested in real deed not words”, said Dr. Jones Feleciano
He ended saying to the upcoming newbie heads, “…there is no better way to enter the pantheon of BSU than to prove you’re like a master mariner who can pilot a ship through the stormiest seas.”
Dr. Jones then handed over the keys of the Office of the University of Business Affairs (UBA) to Dr. Aben, the upcoming BSU UBA vice president. **Rocky Ngalob
