LA TRINIDAD, Benguet — Philippine National Police Chief General Archie Gamboa commended the Cordillera police force for their discipline and professionalism in the discharge of their duties and responsibilities to serve and protect the people and challenged them to maintain the battle cry of the Cordillera Regional Police Office (PRO-Cor) as “The Home of the Most Disciplined Cops.”
“The catch phrase under the Police Regional Office–Cordillera’s banner stated “The Home of the Most Disciplined Cops,” captures what the leadership of the PNP aspires to imbibe in every PNP office, from the National Headquarters down to the police community precincts,” Gamboa said in his message during the 29th PNP Foundation Day celebration and Command Visit at the Camp Bado Dangwa on Monday.
“Untarnished service reputation and creditable police service are the key components to continuously gain the trust of the people in the community. As a result of our relentless effort to write our new narrative, the organization is now reaping its gains,” he said.
The PNP is ranked among top 3 most trusted government agencies based on the Pulse Asia Survey in December 2019, a significant increase from the September 2019 survey. Gamboa said the PNP leadership believes that this is a clear validation that the organization is gaining the trust of the public because of its sincerity in performing its mandate.
Amidst all the obstacles that the PNP is facing, as a team we should strive to overcome all the challenges and collectively move towards the attainment of a highly–capable, effective and credible police service, he added.
Gamboa also called on the Cordillera police force to continue their performances in the various campaigns of the PNP in their respective areas of responsibility.
“May you continue your relentless efforts in combating crimes, illegal gambling, illegal drugs, terrorism and other lawless activities.”
The Chief PNP also acknowledged Cordillerans for stand out in other uniformed units. “Even in the Special Action Force and in any other unit, standing out talaga yung galing sa Cordillera, probably because of your culture, because of the values you develop here. Congratulations! May your tribe continue to thrive,” he said.
In 2019, based on the assessment conducted by the National Police Commission on the professionalism of the country’s police force, only 1.6 percent of PRO-COR’s 6,224 police force had been subjected to charges ranging from simple to grave offenses. This is the lowest ratio among all the 17 regional police offices nationwide, the Regional Internal Affairs Service reported. **JDP/ RMC- PIA CAR
