Dead body found
At about 10:05 AM of September 7, 2017, personnel of PS10, BCPO received a report from TOC, BCPO that a dead body was found at a creek located along Circumferential Road, Bakakeng Norte/Sur, Baguio City. The victim was later identified as Vaughn Carl M. Dicang, 17 years old, Grade 12, student and resident of No. 9 Lower Quirino Hill, Baguio City. He was positively identified by his cousin, Willner Dicang, 40 years old, and resident of No. 140-3 Middle Quirino Hill, Baguio City.
No visible injuries were found on the body of the victim by the SOCO team after processing the crime scene. Further, according to Van Oliver Dicang (brother of the victim), his brother went out of their house at about 9:00 AM of September 1, 2017 and never came home since then up to the time of discovery of his body.
The victim was retrieved by personnel of PS10, EMS, and BFP and was brought to the St. Peter Funeral Homes for autopsy. Progress report will follow.
Physical injuries and acts of lasciviousness
On September 3, 2017 at around 3:00 AM, a case of physical injuries and acts of lasciviousness transpired inside Amper-sand Bar along Leonard Wood Road, Baguio City. Ms. Dazl Bien Silverio y Asuncion, 39, single, entrepreneur and a resident of No. 14, Merville, Parañaque City was allegedly mashed on the buttock and punched on the face by the arrested suspect, Jefferson Molintas y Andres, 22, married, laborer, and a resident of No. NC 083, Shilan, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Investigation disclosed that while the victim was inside said bar, she felt that someone was mashing her buttock. She looked behind and saw the suspect removing his hand from her buttock. She slapped the suspect several times but while being pacified by bouncers, the suspect punched the complainant on her face causing injuries. Case is for inquest.
Series of police operation leads to arrest of 4
Four persons involved in illegal drugs and illegal firearms trade were arrested in separate operations the past days
Joint operatives of the Baguio City Police Office and members of the PDEA-CAR conducted a drug sting operation against one Rafael Sotelo Rancapan a.k.a Paeng, 39, Barangay Kagawad and resident of BGH Compound, Baguio City in the early morning of August 30, 2017 at Barangay Lualhati, Baguio City. Seized from his possession were one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu and a buy-bust money amounting to Php1,000.00.
Another female drug peddler identified as Rowella Maso Delfin, 45, presently residing at Tacay Road, Fairview, Baguio City was nabbed in the afternoon of September 3, 2017 at Brgy. Lourdes Extension, Naguilian Road, Baguio City. Seized from her possession were two heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, cash money amounting to Php1,000.00 and boodle money amounting to Php4,000.00.
On the other hand, two individuals armed with firearms were caught at a residence in Bangbangar, Bangued, Abra on the night of September 3, 2017. Bangued MPS personnel identified the suspects as William Baroña Palecpec @ Willy, 48, farmer, a resident of Malapaao, Langiden, Abra and Jonathan Betunio Ballesta, 27, unemployed, and a resident old Bañacao, Bangued, Abra.
Confiscated from their possession were one colored blue sling bag containing one Colt caliber .45 with serial number 936185, inserted with a magazine loaded with four live ammunition, another one magazine for cal.45 loaded with four live ammunition, one camouflage sling bag containing one Taurus caliber 9mm with defaced serial number inserted with a 9mm magazine loaded with five live ammunition, another extra 9mm magazine loaded with five live ammunitions, cash money amounting to Php6,420.00, one necklace, one power bank, and one red booklet. Suspects failed to present pertinent documents of the said firearms that led to their arrest.
Appropriate charges were filed against them in court.
Alleged carnapping and theft
A case of alleged carnapping and theft transpired at around 2:45 PM of September 7, 2017 at No. 21 Lower Rock Quarry, Baguio City on complaint of Alma Klimaszewski y Catacotan, 48 years old, widow, businesswoman and a resident of No 21 Lower Rock Quarry, Baguio City. Suspect was identified as Chickie Quiroz Sampang, of legal age, and a resident of Apalit Pampanga.
Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the complainant was visited by her friend Marie Antonette Lugue together with a cousin, Chickie Quiroz Sampang on September 3, 2017. The two were temporarily billeted at the house of the complainant wherein on September 5, 2017 at around 4:30 AM, the suspect went inside the complainant’s bed room and minutes later went out of the house without the knowledge of the complainant. At around 6:00 AM of same date, the complainant was called by personnel of PS5 about her car which was left unattended along Lower Quary, Baguio City.
The complainant proceeded to PS5 and learned that her car was driven by the suspect and allegedly bumped something which prompted him to leave the car. The complainant later discovered that her Apple Ipod Air, Iphone 4 and Sonny Experia were missing allegedly taken by the suspect.
Violation of PD 705
At about 11:45 AM of September 7, 2017 at Callagdao Tabuk, Kalinga, personnel of Kalinga PPSC based at Callagdao Police Precinct accosted an Isuzu Elf truck bearing plate TGS 985 loaded with undetermined volume of alleged narra lumber. The truck was driven by Joey Duga Bucatan, 25 years old, married and resident of San Rafael, Paracelis Mtn. Province, with companions identified as Rodel Pucling Lucio 33 years old, single, a resident of Banilag Poblacion, Paracelis, Mtn. Province; and Gina Batangay Tomas, 37 years old, married, a resident of Bananao, Paracelis, Mtn. Province.
Investigation revealed that the flooring of the truck was modified to have double floors. The first floor was loaded with narra lumber and the second floor was filled with empty cases of assorted soft drinks. The driver together with his companions failed to present the necessary documents pertaining to the transport of said lumber which resulted in their arrest. Subject persons were turned over to Tabuk CPS for investigation and filing of case.**
