Dead body of a policeman found
At around 4:30 AM of October 7, 2017, SPO4 Joseph Anganayon Aspilan, 49, married presently assigned at Natonin MPS, Mountain Province PPO was found dead under the Chico Jumbo Bridge, Bontoc, Mountain Province. Responding personnel from Bontoc MPS, PHQ-MPPPO, Provincial IAS and Provincial CLO, processed the area then retrieved the cadaver and brought it to PHQ-MPPPO for postmortem examination by Dr. Diga Kay D. Gomez, Bontoc Municipal Health Officer. The postmortem examination showed that SPO4 Aspilan sustained fractures on his left arm, hemur and pruxipital skull.
Initial investigation showed that on October 5, 2017, SPO4 Aspilan attended the JABRAC meeting conducted at Mountain Province PPO (MPPPO) Conference Hall, Bontoc, Mountain Province. After the activity, he visited his family at Poblacion, Bontoc, Mountain Province. At around 1:30 AM of October 7, 2017, he decided to return to Natonin MPS for his tour of duty and proceeded to Jumbo Bridge to wait for a ride. However, he was found lifeless under the bridge at around 4:30 AM of same date. The case is for further investigation.
Missing person
On October 6, 2017 at around 9:00 PM, in Sitio Caratola, Sadsadan, Bauko, Mtn. Province, Marymae Batton Batara, 32, informed the PNP personnel of Bauko MPS and MPPPSC-Mtn. Province based in Sinto, Bauko that his husband was allegedly missing since October 1, 2017 in Monamon Sur, Bauko, Mountain Province.
Investigation disclosed that prior to the alleged disappearance of her husband Ariel Gapasin Batara, 32, married, steelman/mason, native of and residing at Diego Silang, Difon, Quirino Province was working as a mason in Sitio Boga, Monamon Sur, Bauko, Mtn. Province at the house of Jeford Coneng together with his cousins Teddy Blasi, Eric Manaois and Joel Mark Naral, all of them from Difon, Quirino Province. On the night of Sept. 30, 2017, said missing person together with his cousins had a drinking session inside their workplace. That same night, Ariel Gapasin Batara allegedly left their workplace without informing his companions. He was last seen by Jomel Lartec, at around 6:00 AM of Oct. 1, 2017 standing along the road to Sitio Sengyew, Monamon. Batara is still missing as of this time.
Drowning incident
On October 6, 2017 at around 3:00 PM, personnel of Paracelis MPS and MDRRMC responded to a reported drowning incident at Mallig River, Maab-abnot Bunot, Paracelis, Mountain Province where one Kim Almeda Lumasoc, 7 y/o, grade 2 pupil of Maab-abnot Elementary School drowned.
Investigation disclosed that the victim went to the said river to take a bath but few minutes later the victim went to the upper part of the river where he played somersault (back tumbling) while his elder brother Orlimar Almeda Lumasoc and Nestor Dangangao were cleaning a vehicle about 15 meters away. After 30 minutes, Orlimar Lumasoc and Nestor Dangangao decided to go to Tabuk City for important matters but before they left the place the elder Lumasoc shouted to the victim to go home but there was no response prompting him to verify but did not see his younger brother. Believing that he had already gone home, they left the place. At around 4:00 PM of same date Omena Lumasoc, the father of the victim, went to Maababnot Elementary School to look for his son since he had not gone home yet. When Mr. Lumasoc went to the river, he found his child submerged and lifeless at a shallow portion.
Robbery
On October 11, 2017 at about 11:45 AM, at Sitio Tangkiban, Lacmaan, Besao, Mtn. Province, personnel of Besao MPS arrested Rudy Tanan Alacyang AKA Lodlod, 29, single, laborer and a resident of Payeo, Besao, Mountain Province by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued in Criminal Case No. 4042-C by Acting Presiding Judge Mario Annacleto M. Bañez of Branch 71, Regional Trial Court, First Judicial Region, Candon City, Ilocos Sur for ROBBERY with recommended bail at Php 40,000.00.
Subject person was brought to Besao MPS for documentation prior to his turnover to the court of origin.
Alleged swindling
A case of alleged swindling was committed through “Budol-budol” at about 4:55 PM at a sari-sari store owned by Annie Tenenan Benhil at Dullagan, Poblacion West, Lagawe, Ifugao; and at the Ester’s Store, JP Rizal Avenue, Poblacion East, Lagawe, Ifugao at about 5:25 PM of the same date. The suspect was identified as Alvin Austria Lalik, 28, single, and resident of No. 1801 JP Laurel, San Miguel, Manila.
Investigation disclosed that the suspect ordered two (2) bottles of 1.5 Liters Coke at the sari-sari store and gave one (1) piece of Php1,000.00 as payment. While the victim was preparing the change, the suspect requested the victim to change the bottles of Coke to Coke Zero but the store has no stock. The suspect then returned the bottles of coke and requested the victim to return his money. After which, the suspect requested that his Php1,000.00 be replaced to two (2) pieces of Php500.00. While the victim was looking for Php500.00, the suspect informed that she gave only Php100.00 so the victim gave another Php1,000.00. With the belief that she was victimized by the suspect, she followed the latter and saw her boarding a Mitsubishi Adventure parked in front of the Tiago’s restaurant. The victim reported the incident to the Lagawe MPS. The same modus was committed by the suspect at the Ester’s Store at JP Rizal Avenue, Poblacion East, Lagawe, Ifugao.
The suspect was arrested in a hot pursuit operation and was brought to Lagawe MPS. Case is being prepared for inquest proceedings.
