A bolt-cutter/acetylene robbery group member, 5 TMWP and 23 others fall
CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA– A member of the Jepson Beligen Bolt-Cutter/Acetylene Robbery Group, a criminal gang operating nationwide, five (5) Top Most Wanted Persons in the city, provincial and municipal level and 23 others with various charges were arrested covering the period from May 14-20, 2018 due to intensified anti-criminality operations.
Spearheading the accomplishment is the arrest of Wilfredo Gunadan Dio-alan aka “BOTS BOTINGUEY”, 46 years old, married, businessman, Filipino, a resident of Brgy Bago, Bakun, Benguet. Joint elements of RID-PROCOR, La Trinidad MPS, RIU 14, CIU-Baguio CPO, and Bakun MPS cornered him on or about 11.45 AM of May 20, 2018 at Poblacion, La Trinidad, Benguet by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. Maria Clarita Casuga-Tabin of MTCC, Branch 4, Baguio City for robbery with the use of force upon things. A bail of P200,000.00 was recommended for his temporary liberty.
Dio-alan was involved in the robbery that transpired on March 11, 2018 at Palawan Pawnshop and Robinson Appliances which are both located at Center Point Plaza, Km 3 Marcos Highway, Baguio City. He is also one of the suspects in a robbery with intimidation that transpired on March 19, 2018 at Ataw Marketing, Km 4 Pico La Trinidad, Benguet.
Another wanted person arrested by joint operatives of Bokod, Buguias, Calamba, and Tanauan MPS is Jhon Michael Ignacio, a resident of Lutheran, Abatan, Buguias, Benguet. He was arrested on May 17, 2018 by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Hon. Sergio T. Angnganay, Jr., Acting Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, Branch 64, First Judicial Region, Abatan, Buguias, Benguet for the crime of rape with no bail recommended. Said warrant was served at Calamba Police Station where he was being detained for violation of an election law (illegal possession of deadly weapon). Accused was listed as No. 3 TMWP, Provincial Level of Benguet Province.
Another TMWP in the province of Abra, Ricky Bernal Ortega, 24 years old, single, listed as Nr. 6 provincewide and resident of Lapat Balantay, Tineg, Abra was arrested by joint personnel of Tineg MPS, PIDMB and PIB. Subject person was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Hon. Corpus M. Alzate, RTC, 1st Judicial Region, Branch 1, Bangued Abra for murder.
Likewise, Quirino Gunsay Domingo, 24 years old, married, driver by profession and a resident of Butigue, Paracelis, Mtn. Province was arrested by a composite personnel of 3rd Platoon MPPMFC, Paracelis MPS, RID PRO-COR, PIB and PIDMB Mountain Province on May 16, 2018 at Barangay Butigue, Paracelis, Mountain Province. The arrest was made by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Hon. Sergio T. Angnganay Jr. Presiding Judge of Regional Trial Court, First Judicial Region, Branch 36, Bontoc, Mountain Province for the crime of rape with no bail recommended. The arrested person is ranked number 6 TMWP, Provincial level, 2nd Quarter of 2018.
In Kalinga, personnel of Tabuk CPS arrested Edison Rojado, 31 years old, separated and a resident of Pinukpuk, Kalinga on May 16, 2018. He was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Presiding Judge Neljoe Cortez, RTC, Branch 25, 2nd Judicial Region, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga, for Violation of RA 8353 under CC# 26-2018-c with no bail. Said accused was listed # 9 TMWP for Tabuk City, for the 2nd quarter of CY 2018.
Lastly, Allan B. Bunnat, a resident of Tam-an, Banaue, Ifugao voluntarily surrendered to Banaue MPS on May 15, 2018 for the crime of rape in relation to RA 7610 without bail. Said suspect is listed No. 1 TMWP, municipal level, for the first quarter of 2018.
Moreover, 23 others with standing warrants were arrested in separate operations in the different provinces of this region.
PROCOR leadership commended the operating troops for a job well done and will keep on reinvigorating its anti-criminality campaigns against wanted persons.
Alarm and scandal
On May 20, 2018 at around 12:01 AM, a cellphone call was received by Tayum MPS from Cherish B. Etrata, 28, single and resident of Brgy. Cabaroan, Tayum, Abra informing that Florante Tabaday, 45, married, driver and resident of Brgy. Budac, Tayum, Abra allegedly fired a gun once near their residence. Upon arrival on the area, the responding personnel was approached by the reporter and was informed that Florante Tabaday allegedly fired an unknown firearm outside the Paradise Bar adjacent to the house of the complainant.
Initial investigation conducted by Tayum MPS disclosed that the reporter and the suspect had a secret sexual relationship which ended. The reporter also knew that the suspect was near their house when she was there simply looking outside when she suddenly saw the suspect allegedly fire a firearm once near their residence then immediately left the area. Investigation is still on going.
