Benguet Police destroy P60K worth of MJ plants in Kapangan
As part of the intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign of Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR), the Cabalyero Cops of Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) discovered and destroyed PhP60,000.00 worth of marijuana plants during the marijuana eradication operation conducted in the province of Benguet on January 11, 2025.
According to reports from the Regional Operations Division of Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR), a marijuana plantation site planted with 300 pieces of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants with a Standard Drug Price of PhP60,000.00 was discovered by the joint operatives of Kapangan Municipal Police Station, 2nd Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Provincial Intelligence Unit of Benguet PPO, Regional Intelligence Division of PRO-CAR, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) in Sitio Toplac, Brgy. Pudong, Kapangan.
All discovered marijuana plants were documented, uprooted, and incinerated on-site, while sufficient samples were collected for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR. Additionally, the operatives are conducting follow-up investigations to identify potential marijuana cultivation sites in adjacent areas and to apprehend individuals involved in such activities.

Four drug personalities who were caught in possession of illegal drugs with a total Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP300,426.43 were arrested and charged with violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, following a series of anti-illegal drug operations across the provinces of Abra, Apayao, and Benguet and the City of Baguio on January 14, 2025.
In Abra, a 42-year-old male suspect, who is listed as a Regional Top Ten Individual Drug Personality and classified as a High-Value Individual (HVI), was arrested at his residence in Brgy. Siblong, Bucay, during the execution of a search warrant. The operation, conducted by joint forces from the Abra Police Provincial Office (PPO), Regional Intelligence Division (RID) of PRO-CAR, Regional Intelligence Unit 14 (RIU-14), PNP Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-CAR, led to the seizure of four plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 3.16 grams, with an SDP of PhP 21,488.00.
A similar operation conducted by joint operatives of the Apayao PPO, PRO-CAR RID, RIU-14, and PDEA-Apayao led to the arrest of a 28-year-old male suspect listed as a Street Level Individual (SLI). Operatives seized two sachets of suspected shabu weighing 0.95 grams, two pieces of marijuana fruiting tops weighing 3.99 grams, and one piece of marijuana resin oil weighing 55.72 milliliters, with a total SDP of PhP14,098.43 in the suspect’s residence in Brgy.
