Over 80M worth of illegal drugs seized, 27 drug personalities arrested in PRO-CAR’s
monthlong drug ops
The Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) concluded the month of November with a significant impact on its anti-illegal drugs campaign, following the seizure of PhP80,979,496.00 worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of 27 drug personalities during 89 operations conducted from November 1 to November 30, 2024.
According to reports from the Regional Operations Division, these operations included 62 marijuana eradication efforts, nine buy-bust operations, four search warrant implementations, eight warrants of arrest services, and six police responses.
These efforts led to the confiscation of 88.59 grams of shabu, 248,280 pieces of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants, 39,300 pieces of marijuana seedlings, 242,000.70 grams of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops, and 180 ml of marijuana oil, with a total value of PhP80,979,496.00.
Additionally, 27 drug personalities were arrested, with 17 identified as High Value Individuals and ten identified as Street Level Individuals.
The most significant operations occurred in Benguet, where the Cabalyero Cops of Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) confiscated illegal drugs worth PhP51,909,708.00, and in Kalinga, where the Lumin-awa Cops of Kalinga PPO seized illegal drugs valued at PhP19,782,160.00.
Additionally, in Mountain Province, the Inayan Cops of Mountain Province PPO also had substantial success with the seizure of PhP9,000,000.00 worth of illegal drugs.
These accomplishments highlight PRO-CAR’s steadfast dedication to eradicating illegal drugs and safeguarding the community. Beyond enforcement, PRO-CAR cops actively engage in community education initiatives and partner with local organizations to offer preventive and rehabilitative support. 199 rookie cops successfully complete their Field Training Program
Marking a milestone in their journey in the police service, 199 Newly Appointed Police Non-Commissioned Officers of Public Safety Field Training Program (PSFTP) Class 2023-01 “BALAGSIK” have successfully accomplished the six-month Field Training Exercise/On-the-Job Training conducted from June 3 to December 3, 2024.
The graduates officially received their Certificates of Completion and took an oath to the PNP badge during the Graduation Rites and Badge of Honor Ceremony held at the Masigasig Grandstand, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet.
The event was graced by PBGEN VICTOR V AREVALO, Director of PNP Training Service, as the guest of honor and speaker. Further, he also led the distribution of certificates and awards to the graduates.
As a highlight of the program, the members of Class 2023-01 “MABALAGSIK” who excelled in both academic and non-academic subjects were honored and recognized.
Medalya ng Kasanayan was given to Pat Alexandria Canino Alconis for being the Top 1 and achieving the highest rating of 94.81%, while Medalya ng Papuri was awarded to Pat Yvonny Moyaen Pesase with the rating of 94.33% and Pat Brandean Tacay Binua, Jr with the rating of 93.55%, for ranking as Top 2 and Top 3, respectively.
Moreover, Medalya ng Papuri and certificates of commendation were also presented to Pat Silvestre Apangdan Bangloy for serving as the Class Marcher and Pat Alvin Bangtowan Utang for serving as the Class President.
The 199 newly appointed patrolmen and patrolwomen, comprised of 198 Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) recruits and one PNP Training Service recruit, were entrusted with their own PNP badge during the ceremonial pinning. This signifies their official status as full-fledged police officers, tasked with the responsibility to serve and protect the community with honor, integrity, and dedication to public service.
In his message, PBGEN AREVALO congratulated the 199 new police officers for successfully completing the six-month PSFTP and expressed his gratitude to their family for their unwavering support throughout their journey.
“This graduation ceremony is more than just a recognition of your hard work and perseverance; it is a testament to your commitment to uphold the ideals of the PNP and to fulfill our shared mission to ensure public safety and security,” PBGEN AREVALO added.
