Daylong Drug Ops Yield Over P7.3M Worth of Illegal Drugs, Street Level Drug Personality Arrested
The relentless anti-illegal drugs campaign of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) led to the confiscation of PhP7,328,800.00 worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of a street level drug personality during the series of operations conducted in the provinces of Kalinga, Benguet, and Abra on January 25, 2025.
In Kalinga, four marijuana plantation sites planted with 33,000 Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP) with a Standard Drug Price of PhP6,600,000.00 were discovered during the marijuana eradication operations conducted by the joint operatives of Tinglayan Municipal Police Station (MPS), Pinukpuk MPS, 1st and 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Companies (PMFC), Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO), Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit of PRO CAR, PNP Special Action Force, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Kalinga in Brgy. Tulgao West, Tinglayan.
Meanwhile, in Benguet, the same nature of operation resulted in the discovery of 490 FGMJP and 4,690.00 grams of dried marijuana plants with an overall SDP of PhP660,800.00 by the joint forces of 1st Benguet PMFC, Bakun MPS, PDEU and PIU of Benguet PPO, Regional Intelligence Division (RID) of PRO CAR, and PDEA-CAR in Brgy. Tacadang, Kibungan and Brgy. Kayapa, Bakun.
All discovered marijuana plants were thoroughly documented and burned on-site, with sufficient samples collected for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR.
Further, in Abra, a 23-year-old male identified as a Street Level Individual was arrested by the operatives of Bangued MPS, Peñarrubia MPS, 1st and 2nd Abra PMFC, RID PRO CAR, Regional Intelligence Unit 14, PNP Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit-CAR, and PDEA-CAR in Brgy. Calaba, Bangued, after he sold one sachet of suspected shabu weighing approximately 5.00 grams with an SDP of PhP34,000.00 to an operative who posed as a buyer.
In the course of his arrest, another sachet of suspected shabu weighing approximately 5.00 grams with an SDP of PhP34,000.00 was seized from his possession.
The arrested suspect and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of the Abra PPO PDEU for documentation and proper disposition. The suspect will be facing charges for violation of R.A. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“Salamat Kapatid”: A tribute to two retiring PRO CAR cops
The Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) honored the selfless service of two dedicated police officers during a heartfelt “Salamat Kapatid” Program held at the Multi-Purpose Center, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on January 24, 2025.
The honorees during the event were PEMS Raul B Lucero and PMSg Beinvenido M Valdez of the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division.
The program was led by PBGEN ROGELIO Z RAYMUNDO JR, PRO CAR Deputy Regional Director for Administration, alongside other members of the Command Group, the Regional Staff, the Chiefs of the Regional Support Units, other PRO CAR personnel, and the family and friends of the retirees.
To commemorate their unwavering dedication, PBGEN RAYMUNDO, JR presented the retirees with a plaque, a memento, and the Medalya ng Paglilingkod (PNP Service Medal). Additionally, certificates of appreciation were awarded to the retirees’ families in recognition of their unwavering support for the retirees.
In his valedictory address, PEMS Lucero expressed his deep gratitude to the PNP for providing him with the opportunity to serve the nation and protect its citizens. He acknowledged the invaluable support of his colleagues, superiors, and especially his family throughout his career.
