Arrested in La Trinidad for groping inside a jeepney
Patrolling police officers apprehended a 25-year-old man for groping a minor inside a passenger jeepney on August 28, 2022.
Based on the report submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR, the suspect was identified as Roger Saldo Lipaen, 25 years old, a native of Baguilin, La Union and presently residing in La Trinidad, Benguet.
According to La Trinidad Municipal Police Station (MPS), the minor rode in the passenger jeepney when the suspect followed and sat beside her. After a while, the suspect started to caress the victim’s waist and breast then alighted from the passenger vehicle upon reaching Brgy. Lubas, La Trinidad, Benguet
The victim also got out of the jeepney and informed the patrol duty police officers of the incident. This prompted the police officers to act immediately and arrested the suspect.
The suspect is now under the custody of La Trinidad MPS and will be facing charges for Acts of Lasciviousness in relation to RA 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
In a statement, PBGEN MAFELINO BAZAR commended PEMS Silvestre K Lumyeb and PCpl Denio P Sabas for their prompt action on the incident.
“Kaya nga bukod sa dinagdagan natin yung mga pulis na nagpapatrolya sa ating mga lansangan, ipinag-utos ko rin na dapat maging maagap at mabilis sila sa kanilang pagresponde sa mga huhingi ng tulong sa kanila.” PBGEN BAZAR said.
Brngy kagawad arrested for shabu
A barangay kagawad is now facing charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, after a search warrant that was implemented in his residence resulted in the discovery of over eighty-eight-thousand-peso worth of shabu in the morning of September 1, 2022.
According to the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO ASPIRO BAZAR, the arrested suspect was identified as Francis Carpio Dagson, 57, listed as a High-Value Individual (HVI) and an active Barangay Kagawad of Irisan, Baguio City.
The same report disclosed that while implementing the search warrant in his residence, joint operatives from PDEA-CAR and Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) discovered seven (7) plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less 13 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 88,400.00 and a digital weighing scale.
The inventory of the pieces of evidence recovered was conducted on-site in the presence of the arrested suspect and witnessed by Pros. Bernard Allan Angeles, DOJ Representative, and Punong Barangay Arthur Carlos of Barangay Irisan, Baguio City.
The suspect and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of PDEA Baguio for documentation and proper disposition.**
