P6-M MJ seized, 3 drug personalities

Three suspects listed as Street Level Individuals (SLIs) were caught with Php 6 million worth of dried marijuana in tubular form in a checkpoint operation at Barangay Lomon, Paykek, Kapangan, Benguet on the early morning of October 4, 2021.
The arrested suspects are Marry Ann Felipe Del Rosario, 22; Simiano Tadina Patingan, 36; and Jun Comot Colera, 31.
Operatives of Kapangan MPS, while conducting a checkpoint operation flagged down a Mitsubishi Montero vehicle where they found suspected illegal drugs. One of the operative also noticed a protruding firearm tucked on the waist of Colera.
The incident resulted in the arrest of the three suspects and the confiscation of two sacks of suspected dried marijuana in tubular form weighing more or less 50 kilograms with estimated worth of Php 6,000,000.00.
Also, a caliber .45 pistol with one magazine containing seven live ammunition and a Montero Sport vehicle used for transportation were confiscated from the suspects.
On-site inventory of the seized pieces of evidence was conducted in the presence of Prosecutor Winston Suaking, Barangay Captain Hanzel Manis and Media Representative Denver Bastingo.
The suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to Kapangan MPS for proper disposition and for inquest proceedings for violation of R.A 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. While, Colera will be facing additional charges for the violation of R.A 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
100 newly appointed police officers
100 newly appointed patrolmen and patrolwomen formally took their oath as the newest members of Police Regional Office Cordillera in a simple ceremony held at Masigasig Grandstand on October 7, 2021.
PCOL CHARLES DOMALLIG, Chief, Regional Recruitment and Selection Unit-Cordillera presented the candidates for appointment. Afterwards, PLTCOL FRANCISCO B BULWAYAN JR, Acting Chief of the Regional Personnel Records and Management Division (RPRMD), read the appointment orders of 100 newly appointed personnel of PROCOR, 45 physically present.
PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, PROCOR Regional Director, administered the oath-taking of the newly appointed which was followed by the ceremonial awarding of the Automated Teller Machine Cards to the appointees.
Gracing the event as the Guest of Honor and Speaker, Director Donna Lynn A Caparas of NAPOLCOM-CAR reiterated to the new recruits that public office is a public trust. She said that public officers must at all times be accountable to the people and serve them with utmost responsibility, integrity, loyalty, and efficiency.
“You must always act with patriotism and justice and live modest lives. Keep in mind that this trust carries great responsibilities”, she added.
PMA commandant marched on PROCOR’S grounds
Police Regional Office Cordillera warmly welcomed the arrival of the Philippine Military Academy Commandant of Cadets, BGEN JULIUS ANCHETA TOMINES, PA as the guest of honor and speaker of the Distinguished Visitors Program at the Masigasig Grandstand in Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on October 7, 2021.
Greeted by the traditional welcome dance performed by the men and women of PROCOR, BGEN TOMINES was received by PCOL ELMER E RAGAY, the Chief of the Regional Intelligence Division of PROCOR.
