P600k+ worth of shabu seized, one arrested in Baguio
A drug personality listed as High-Value Individual (HVI) was arrested by joint operatives of RDEU-PROCOR and Baguio City Police Office in Barangay Irisan, Baguio City on the morning of December 28, 2021.
The arrested suspect was identified as Edmundo Garceco Gecarani, 42, and listed as a High-Value Drug Personality. Hewas arrested after he sold to an operative one (1) transparent plastic sachet containing suspected “shabu” with an estimated weight of 100 grams having a Standard Drug Price (SDP) amounting to Php 680,000.00.
Markings and inventory of the pieces of evidence were done on-site in the presence of the suspect and witnessed by Prosecutor Oliver Prudencio, Kagawad Thomas Dumalti of Brgy. Irisan, and Brigette Marcasi as the media representative.
Further, the suspect was brought to Irisan Police Station (PS9) for documentation while the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to PNP Forensic Group for qualitative and quantitative examination. Meanwhile, a case for violation of RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is being prepared for filing against the suspect.
PROCOR cops conduct xmas drops
In the spirit of Christmas, PROCOR cops under the leadership of PBGEN RONALD O LEE, simultaneously launched gift-giving activities to children and indigent families throughout the region today, December 26, 2021.
Dubbed as Christmas Drop, a project originally intended to extend assistance to the victims of Typhoon Odette, PROCOR cops adopted the project within their locality through various means such as feeding and gift-giving activities.
Among the items gifted to children were school supplies, toys, slippers, groceries and food packs, hygiene kits, and other goodies.
In Abra, assorted groceries and food packs were distributed to 301 children and 15 indigent families. Also, in Apayao, school supplies, slippers, and food packs were given to 80 children and 2 indigent families in the municipality.
Furthermore, 214 children in Baguio City were given assorted groceries and Noche Buena packages. While, in Benguet, assorted goodies, facemasks, school supplies, and vegetables were distributed to 16 selected families and 269 individuals.
Moreover, In Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province, hygiene kits, food packs, school kits, slippers, and goodies were distributed to a total of 178 children and 10 indigent families.
In some areas, cops chose indigent families to benefit from the project.
In total, there were 1,042 children and 33 families who benefited from this project with an overall cost of P203,700.00.
Communities conduct indignation reallies
To express their disappointment to the existence of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), the community came together to conduct peace indignation rallies in the Cordillera region on December 26, 2021.
The simultaneous event was participated in by the various barangay officials, Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) members, youth, and other stakeholders aiming to denounce & protest the Communist NPA Terrorists (CNTs) who are using their areas of responsibility as a mobility corridors.
Based on monitoring, a total of 94 indignation rallies were conducted in the different provinces in Cordillera.
Also, a total of 74 vigils or candle lighting were conducted for the victims of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) violence. Further, 32 local chief executives (LCEs) and 27 indigenous people (IP) leaders gave their statements condemning the CTG.
Then, another 34 former members, top leaders/cadres of CNT and NPA fighters shared their bad experiences in the way they were deceived by the CNTs.
The simultaneous indignation rallies coincided with the 53rd founding anniversary of CPP.**
