Drug sting yields 2 accused, P600K MJ burned
Two drug personalities are now facing charges for violating RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 after they were caught in separate buy-bust operations in Kalinga while a total of Php 600,000.00 worth of dried marijuana leaves were burned on-site in Benguet on June 20, 2022.
Citing the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, the arrested drug personalities were identified as Wayne Gangngob de Jesus, 25 and Clynx Gerald Lopes Belgica, 27.
In Bulanao Norte, Tabuk City, suspect Wayne was arrested by the joint operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Kalinga PPO and Tabuk City Police Station (CPS) after he sold one (1) plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.05 grams with a standard drug price (SDP) of Php 340.00 while another plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.05 grams with an SDP of Php 340.00 was confiscated from his possession.
In a separate buy-bust operation conducted at Bulanao Centro, Tabuk City, suspect Clynx was arrested by the same operatives after he sold one (1) plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.3 grams with an SDP of Php 2,040.00 while another two (2) plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.25 grams with an SDP of Php 1,700.00 was confiscated from his possession.
Markings and inventory of the pieces of evidence recovered were done on-site in the presence of the arrested suspects and witnessed by representatives of the Department of Justice (DOJ), media, and elected barangay officials.
The suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence are with the concerned operating units.
Meanwhile, a Mobile Force Company while conducting patrol in the mountains of Brgy. Tacadang, Kibungan, Benguet have discovered more or less 5 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves with an SDP of Php 600,000.00. These were burned on-site.
4 arrested, P720K MJ eradicated
As the result of the continuous anti-illegal drug operations of PROCOR, four drug personalities were arrested while Php 720,000.00 worth of marijuana were eradicated in Benguet on June 22, 2022.
Based on the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, the arrested suspects were identified as Rica Ayengan, 35; Ursula Cabbigat, 55; Ernesto Tindaan, 53; and Allan Domingo, 29.
In Bokod, Benguet, the implementation of a search warrant resulted in the arrest of suspect Rica in Brgy. Daclan.
According to the report of Benguet PPO, while implementing the search warrant in her residence, the operatives discovered four (4) plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.8 grams with a standard drug price (SDP) of Php 5,440.00.
While implementing the search warrant, one personnel of Bokod MPS designated as perimeter security heard some noise in a shanty a few meters away from the house being subjected to the search warrant.
Upon checking the shanty, the police officer saw suspects Ursula and Ernesto having a drug session inside prompting the officer to arrest them.
One (1) plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.15 grams with an SDP of Php 1,020.00 was confiscated during their arrest.
Meanwhile, a buy-bust operation conducted in Mankayan, Benguet resulted in the arrest of suspect Allan after he sold one (1) plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.20 grams with an SDP of Php 1,360.00 while another sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.34 grams with an SDP of Php 2,312.00 was confiscated from his possession.
The arrested suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of the respective operating units for documentation and proper disposition.
The suspects will be facing charges for violating RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, the operatives of 1st Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company while conducting another patrol in the mountains of Sitio Lanipew, Tacadang, Kibungan, Benguet have discovered more or less 880 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with an SDP of Php 176,000.00; 1,600 pieces of marijuana seedlings with an SDP of Php 64,000.00; and 4 kilograms of dried marijuana stalks with an SDP of Php 480,000.00
All marijuana plants, seedlings, and dried stalks were destroyed on-site. No cultivator was apprehended during the said operations, while an investigation is ongoing to identify the possible cultivators.**
